Bell housing

in removing the bell housing, do you have to take off the gear casing? some1 run me through the removal real quick <3

What are you trying to do? Change the clutch?

neg, put sohc transmission on sr motor.

first take off the plate behind the throw out bearing and remove the c clips that are behind the plate on the trans's shafts, then remove the bolts around the mid sections ( green arrows they go all around the mid section some cant be seen in the picture) and bang on the bellhousing with your foot or something that wont hurt it and it should start coming loose.

you may need to use a chissle to get it to start seperating just be very carefull not to damage the matting surfaces. Here's a pic of the gearset with no bellhousing

either one. they are pretty much the same with few minor differences.
