 Before read my article plz remind now that

I'm not smart enuff about 240sx stuff(I'm getting better)

After I decided to buy 240sx and joined here. I've got tons of real good info and advices. (I still keep reading.. It's a lot)

And I have made my mind.

But before all real-stuff, I wanna know about real-factors. (very honest, and maybe dumb question)

Are u guys all good at mechanic stuff? or it's actually, easier

than sound?

Choosing the engine and gear and LSD and other parts are

not that difficult(enuff info in here) But for me Deal would be

Whether I can do that?

(for instance... the engine? -> sr20det... it's easy part...

Difficult one is "How"? - now I even don't have own garage... :( )

In addtion whthere I can get good-condition engine nowdays...

(less than 15000miles hopely... is there a brand new still??)

and some parts(head lamp..) It sounds like It has been

discontinued... (especially the engine)

Also there are legal issues...

Swaping sr20det is actually illegal in US? (cause it not USDM...)

and emmision.. and insuarance... etc...

(I gotta find a way to sove theses...)

Hoo... so it's not easy to make final decision for me...

If anyone has advice or any comments about

When you first meet 240sx and these things...

(how have you been dealing with...?)

I will learn and I believe I like 240sx a lot..

I'm just little scared now... ha... ;)

PS what is AIM though?? I donno how to use it...

welcome to the boards man,

I've only been around for a small amount of time But alot of the people who are around here know what their talking about and are very wise. If you had a question... yeah it could get answered here... 240s pwn me... and are very nice cars...

When i first fell in love with it i had never seen one before. i was looking cars up online to se the best bang for my buck but i wanted a car not too meny people owned and was easy to duke out. with a nice size engy.. since my last car was a 1992 sentra and i loved it to death.. i looked yp Kbb.com noticed the 240 had like 140 or 150hp (My 240 did atleast) but i think that was at the flywheel.. anyways.. the 2.4 got me...

my buddy had an altma 2.4 all underdriven cold air intake. B&M Short shifter, ect... and i was spanked by the car in the back seat of it.. i was so impressed that i fell in love with my sentra...

and i thought of both of them when looking for a new car... The fast altma and the handeling of my sentra... when the stanza looked like the only thing i found the 240... as i staired into the headlights i felt something wet in my pants... as i sat there looking at it with the tag on it that said SOLD AS IS FOR $1,000 i almost pooed right after... It has high miles on it but... im not worryed about it... IMHO i would love love love to have the ka24det in my car or even the 300zxs 3.0 but i think thats a few to meny mods :/

welcome, a lot of people here are very well informed, and know a great deal about cars overall, i for one know a fair share but am always learning more. Most of your answers can be answered here on Nico, as for the question about brand new SR's, NO, at least not from what i know, i believe they were discontinued in 2002. Correct me if I am wrong anyone.

I would never say a 240sx is a nice car, especially compared to his rsx. His car would handle just as good and be much faster stock than our cars are. If you are looking into a 240sx for autocrossing purposes, I would stick with your car. But if you really, realyl want a 240, I'll sell you mine

yeah the only advantage i see in a 240sx is if you dump an equivalent amount of money as the sticker price of that RSX...then MAYBE you'll have a car that's as nice...the RSX is a sweet car and unless you need RWD for a reason, i'd stick w/ it

Any FR layout would in generall give your more fun factor than a fast FF. Well at least to me.

If you worry so much about all that stuffs you post. then stick with your RSX.

youkoso!

http://www.aol.com go to AIM or instant messenger. i forget what it's titled on the page.

the 240sx is a great car, but it does take some mechanical love and care to make it a great car. you're going to be finding medium mileage engines now. in the 40,000 mile and over range.

people will argue that you don't need the SR20, but it's up to you to decide if you would like to get the SR or keep the KA. each engine has it's plusses and minuses.

what you should do is import a Hyper Rev magazine about the silvia/180sx to help you decide what modding path you would like to take.

try japanparts.com to order a copy, or if you can get friends or relatives in japan to get you one.

wow, so many youngin's. good to see the 240 section isnt what it used to be.

im on AIM all the time: megaseth03

i'll be more than happy to chat if im not busy doing stuff or...well...n/m ;)

as with any car, the 240 does require some mechanical knowledge to do any wok, but the thing is, again as with any car, you need to just dive right in and take stuff apart. you'll learn more about the car actually doing the work yourself than taking it to a shop and just reading. good luck.

Even though my hatch is a beater right now, I love her to death. Firing her up again last night after she'd been sitting was like music in my ears :)
