I have been on the forums here at NICO for about a year or so , and have met a few nice people. The one thing I have noticed is that if you make an error like leaving your caps lock on or mispell a word here or there, there is always some one right there to rip you a new a$$ hole. I have been in car clubs for over 22 years in many different cars.I have been a member of Inland Mopars for over 15 years. I started my 240sx project last year and joined the site to make some friends in the 240 community ,but have only been met with people that would rather s$%t on you for something like your typing skills.I admit that I am not a great typer, and do not always spell every word correctly.I am here to talk cars and share insight with people that might know more about these cars than I do. Please keep in mind that we are all into cars of one form or another and should try and support one another in the car hobby. you never know who you are taking a stab at!

Point well made. To me, as long as you get your point across, no problems will arise, but there is always someone having a bad day, or is irritated at the moment and they type that crap. I hear where you're coming from, i see all these threads that have unnecessary flaming. If it's a noob, just give them the link and tell them to search next time, dont go off on them.

just voicing my opinion.

My situation makes it easy , I am doing 2 piece wheels so i can grab rim shells off of the shelf and make the fitment (I own part of the company) 255/30-19 215/35-19

19's on an s13 chassis? good luck pulling that off, no sarcasm. post pics of your car when you get some time. people tend to get crazy on here cuz were sick of reading the same old "sr vs ka" thread usually made by people that cant bother reading or searching for information on there own. if anyone is on you about spelling or grammar its usually to make them feel better, so just give it right back at them. jabs at there mother still entertains me.

It's been a fun build,a lot of really good friends have helped me along to get it to where it is now, she's still rough, but I only have about 1700 bucks into the entire car. far cry from my 71 charger build a few years ago. That car cast me well over 30 grand. During that build (charger) my wife came out into the garage and said"its either me or that car " I sure miss that woman!

The problem is when people make up these little internet things.

M4d TyT3 D0rIftoFTWFTMFWFTLIn before the lock.etc."search, noob"put on your flame suit.

I look at all these and just see stupid people.I want to see our world and country progress.I don't want to see a new generation of internet bred idiots. It's embarassing to be a part of the same human race sometimes.

simple spelling errors are okay. I make them all the time.

Teaching people the difference between "your" and "you're" should be a key.

Liking cars is fine, but let's try and have a pool of EDUCATED enthusiasts.

I agree, it just irritates me (NICO as a collective I'm sure) when you want to help out a guy but you hurt your brain trying to figure out what the hell his point is due to bad grammar, punctuation, spelling. There are quite a few people around here who type like they never made it past 7th grade English class.

Just reply to a poorly written post with: "I, alongside my fellow Nissan enthusiasts, are having trouble deciphering your written language. Please rephrase your question(s). Thank you, and good day."

**Edit: I'm 99% sure there is some kind of grammar error in that sentence.

HE WAS JOKING.Sometimes our humor can be a bit on the dry side.

Edit : Are you threatening him? Since you know what his car looks like, and you live in the same place. That's supposed to give you a leverage of some sort?

You never know who you're dealing with on the Internet, it's the Internet.Anonymity is both good and bad.

oh relax... its just the internet. People take things too seriously nowadays.

let me speak from a member's standpoint : albeit the type of stuff said around here or any other forum wouldn't be said in real life group discussion... (well maybe Teddy would actually say the $hit he posts on the forums... but he's just going through some hormonal changes at the moment) but that's the thing, its not.

Besides, here in 240 general... you're gonna get a lot of people's opinions, whether they be good, bad, blunt, or just plain wrong... but that's life, what are you gonna do?

Now if the same crap were to be in some sort of serious technical non aesthetic type of thread, it would be a different story.

and now from a moderator's standpoint:

The flaming only goes so far before it gets locked though. Its not really tolerated to a certain degree, and once its past that point (or at least lost the point), theres no reason to leave it open.

You're taking some things a little too seriously. I'm 28 and been driving and modifying 240's since I was 16. While I don't claim to know every ins and outs of the 240, I do know a decent amount and it gets to me too when some kid insults my knowledge about 240's. I realize you're probably older than I am, but the reason for the low level of maturity on this site is because most the members are probably still in high school or in their early college years. Nothing wrong with that and you don't need to stoop down to their level.
