I was looking through the toast to the noodles thread and noitced that it had become very hostile. I was very very glad that Fred closed it because I have never seen a more immature thread ever. That was the dumbest thing ive ever seen. We need more maturity around here. Threatening people and jealousy ove ra girl, how old are you guys?

But ona lighter note, thanks to all the mods and admins for their faithful service to us, and i definitely thank fred for closing the "toast to the noodles thread"!

Maybe this topic should be renamed, "Diss to the noodles thread".

But yeah, our mods and administrators are nice... :)

I just read it and I can't figure out if they were kidding or if they were actually pissed... skrewel was friggin' hilarious though... I hope he wasn't serious cause that was funny IMO.

I'd hate to see fellow NICO members and Nissan enthusiasts fighting against each other... remember, we're not Civic-driving ricers here, we're all bad***!

Thanks mods and admins!

Question: How is it that mods are selected?

Thanks much, guys. I think I speak for the entire staff when I say that if we didn't have "much love" for our NICO brothas/sistas, we wouldn't invest the time/energy/money that we do.

You guys (our members) make this place the best automotive site on the Web. Period.

BTW - Moderator selection process is actually pretty intense. From time to time, when a mod leaves or we expand sufficiently to require a new mod, we discuss it in the moderator forum... Someone nominates a member, and we all weigh in. If that person's nomination is fully supported, then it's a go. We keep a "backlog" of moderator candidates so that if we need one immediately, we have a couple that have already been approved but not yet promoted.

Hmmm... I know this comes off odd, but is it legal to reveal what makes a good candidate? I've noticed most of our mods are pretty level-headed, so I would assume that's part of it.

I woudl think its pretty self-explanatory.. Many of our mods/admins have helped set up the site and such in some sort of way.

NTN - You're absolutely right. My biggest criteria is good judgement and a level head.

Other Admins have different criteria - For example, Fred really likes people who contribute good solid technical info...

It also helps to be a strong proponent of the site, with an eye towards "expanding our borders".

I also like what I term, "Being a positive force on the board".:yesnod

Thank you for the kind words Altiman. I found this thread a bit late, but I concur with all of Greg's remarks.

Fred..:)

I want to clear up something about the toast to the noodles thread. It was all a big joke. It was late, um actually early in the morning and some of us were just having a little fun. It was evident that the thread was going to be shut down to begin with, but why can't we all have a little fun now and then. Maybe as a Mod I should not have been involved, but I have apologized to the mods/admins already in case I was being out of line.

For those of you who do not understand the idea of having a little fun and lightening the mood abit, I feel very sorry for you. That is what really matters in life, being happy and enjoying life. It seems to me that some people need to enjoy life a little more.

Yes, I want to thank the other mods and our admins for all of the terrific work that gets done here. Without you this place would not exist. And I again apologize on behald of the 4 or 5 us that took over the "toast to noodles thread". There was no harm intended, just a having a little fun early in the morning.

Sincerely,

Ryan-G35 Moderator

I'm new here but this site is a lot cleaner and loaded with helpful info I find seriously lacking on other boards. Bravo moderators!

Just don't fall else you might break that hip :D

Mad tight JDM style Koguchi sideways-out-the-window-naked props to Greg and Fred for putting up with the mods and all the members and making NICO habitable.
