Being harrased for having a nice car?!

Hey guys i haven't posted in a long time. I thought i would start hitting up the forums again, im sure a few of you remember me though.

So the other day I pulled into subway to get a sandwich on the way home. I get out of my car and these 2 guys (both 16) get out of their truck (as they are leaving the parking lot and block it off mind you) and start harassing me about my car. One kid asks me if it is truly my car and i reply with a yes. He asks me again but then says No its your parents car. I tell him calmly again that it is in fact my car. I'm not one to get into fights but this guy sure was asking for one, my problem is why was he so worried about what kind of car I have. There is another kid at my school that has one and I doubt he has problems with it. Im assuming he was just jealous, but I could have seriously gotten hurt (2 against 1) I guess i'm going to have to carry around a baseball bat or something

Me being a very violent teenage, that would love for that situation to happen to me.. I would say just let it go man . Kids like that love to talk and most of the time will say s*** till you you put them into the ground.. Fighting lame and its not a good idea to carry a bat man it gets you into more trouble than you want trust me i have made some bad decisions with a bat.. It you get into that kind of situation just walk inside and let it go.. Its hard but you got to do it,

Yes, they were greeen.You could have said that your mother/father left it to you after she passed away from cancer/war/other. You get the idea. They really had no right to harrass you, so why not give them something to think about the next time they try to pre-judge somebody. You will be giving them a little life lesson.Violence over words is never a good option. Best defense is a good offense...verbally of course. As in MA, get them off balance. Pilsung!

I say take it as a compliment. It sounds like a case of jealousy to me. As long as nothing happens to your car (or you) let them think or joke in whatever way you want. In turn, take solace in the fact that you clearly know how to work for what you want and I have no doubt you will be at a movie 15 years down the road and guess who will be selling/tearing your ticket? I bet they wont follow you out to the parking lot after the movie to poke fun at your nice car then...

I have been questioned about my car 4 times since i brought it. The first time it happened i was a little offended, but after the second time i been taking as a compliment. If you are young you "Not suppose" to have a car like that. Thats why they assumed your parents brought it for you.

Being a young minority i have gotten asked four times, "so... what do you do to afford that car?" by complete strangers. I just politely tell them my education background, my job title, and keep it moving. i get a kick out of the surprised look on their faces.

i think next time im going to say, "I sell that white..." just for kicks

Can't say I've ever been harassed about it, I've always gotten compliments on it. Most recently a guy at a gas station in a Pontiac Grand Am asked if I wanted to trade. I'm young and I look younger, maybe my day is coming, who knows.

They ask me what I do for a living... sell drugs

so now the people who go to my school that aren't my closest friends believe that i'm some kind of drug dealer and a "bad" boy... And the girls that dig the "bad" boys love to hang out with me...

All in all it works in my favor...

All the guys that are hatin'... well, they can keep on doing just that...

That was the thing, when i went into the store they actually stayed around and I was watching them. Im pretty sure they wanted to mess with my car

Heh, I had something similar happen to me driving home last night in the truck. Left lane of the interstate going the speed limit when a truck came up alongside me and just stayed with me at 65 mph. I needed to get over to the right so instead of slowing down I just stepped on it (the tires hinder my acceleration quite a bit). As I speed up, the truck does the same thing.

"Okay, so I'll just get over behind that idiot instead." WRONG. Slammed on the brakes to get next to me again. Repeat one more time with the gas pedal... truck speeds up. Drop the gas, truck slams on the brakes. Ugh, idiots. I eventually just put it in neutral and revved the engine so the truck thought I was going to try to pass again, tapped the brakes and moved to the right lane. Good thing it was late and there weren't any other cars.

I encountered this a lot. My first car was a carrera 4s 03'. This was in high school. Unless they are friends just ignore them and tell them to f off. Worse comes to worse and they persist on saying it is your parents car just say it is and retaliate later.For example plastic wrapping their truck. Don't give a$$ holes anything to argue about.

Real trucks measure by tire size, not wheel size. However, for what it's worth, they are the stock wheel size - 15"
