I deliver pizza in my '89 240sx in a rural area so I am often backing out of dark, narrow driveways lined with gas grills, cars on blocks, old boat trailers and other random redneck paraphenalia. I've been trying to find some really bright backup lights that would help me avoid these obstacles, but so far have had no luck. Can I get a brighter bulb for the sockets already installed? Or would I need complete aftermarket lights? And if so where would I find them?

As far as the brighter bulbs, I have no idea.

You could wire up some fog lights under the back of the car, then with the flip of a toggle switch you would have a good amount of light.

tap into the leads going to the backup lights and they will come on automatically.

They have halogen replacements for back-ups, never tried them but seem like they would be brighter.

LED conversion. Forget bulbs, get the bright white LED's.
