I am sorry if I am repeating old discussions, I couldn't find my answer.

Anyway, I have a budget of about $2300 at this moment, and want to do suspension mods to begin with on my '96 (base) 240SX. I am looking at the JIC magic FLT-A2 coilovers, Energy Suspension Full Hyperflex Bushings, and either the Whiteline or Susp Techniques front and rear antiroll bars. The above with be around my budget, not inc install fees. Do you think this is a good way to go or overkill? I want as little diminish in ride quality, this is mainly for street use, but eventually may be getting into auto-x or drifting.

Also, can anyone suggest what would be a reasonable price to pay a local (non-dealer) shop to install these parts, and if they should be capable of this? (I.E. Anything I should tell them to watch out for and do in particular)...

BTW, For the moment I plan to only mod the KA and not do an SR swap, unless my motor is too tired.

THANKS!

alrite, 1st off, welcome to NICO this is a good place to learn all about your car.

2nd, install these yourself, its just a basic swap, dont waste your money having some1 install these, you dont have to use springs compressors either, just take out the whole strut/spring assembly as one and swap in the coilovers, sways are just a basic swap over, just get a mechanically inclined friend to help if u arent comfortable in doin this by yourself, but it really is pretty basic.

the JIC's are very nice coilovers, but if you dont wanna invest that much, i reccomend the KTS/SPL coilovers, just over 1100 and comparable to the Tein HEs. SPL parts sells them and are also a NICO sponser, so check em out, http://www.splparts.com ...i have their tension rods, subframe collars, and i got the CUSCO ruca's from them and i love all the parts!

as for anything else to do to your car, take the left over money that you were gonna use to have some1 install these, and buy a used vlsd. makes a world of difference in every kind of driving.

so good luck!

Thanks for the friendly welcome!

As to the used VLSD, I saw a used "pumkin" on one site, would that include everything I would need for a VLSD swap over, or is that only the housing?? I know the price was only like $800 vs. the NISMO limited slip which is 1500 or more I believe.

Thanks for tips! BTW your car looks awesome!
