Well basically I am running a ka24det with t3 60trim and a 8:1 fmu at 6psi as of right now. I just picked up a safc2, some injectors and a n60 for really cheap and I'm going to put them on and maybe crank up the boost to 10-12psi MAX, ill probably still only run about 7-8 daily.

here is my concern:

Right now I'm running a saab blackstone Smic, it seems to be doing its job and getting good airflow as I attached a slim fan to it, and its getting fresh through the front vent. But I'm worried when I crank up the boost its going to heat up way to much and cause some tuning problems with my current setup of a suck through maf (the temp of the air at the maf and the temp of the air going into the engine are going to differ), not to mention high intake temps.

here is how I am initially going to try to combat my problem.some sort of co2 intercooler spray, I can make this super cheap-oinstall an intake temp gauge on the cold side to see exactly what going on,especially after a long drive.Maybe alchy injection if its in my budget.

Give me some opinions here guys I would really appreciate it. will have pics later.

if you're going for a long drive, what's the point of keeping the boost at the max...?

side note: intercoolers are extremely cheap on egay.

Is there something wrong with getting the appropriately sized fmic? That would get rid of all your problems without having to worry about a bottle running out.

Just upgrade to a front mount. If you start spraying CO2 into while driving thats really the last thing you want the engine inhaling. The sprayers are more for a stand still anyway. And alcohol injection is going to run you the same if not more than a front mount.

Ya I figured fmic would be the fix, but ya my budget is not great and I'm being stubborn because I don't want to re-do the intercooler piping. And I have done some research on ebay front mounts and its sounds like their heat retention over time is no good.

Here this guy is located in CO also http://www.siliconeintakes.com...e2cc7 . As far as piping I dunno if they sell a kit for the ka, but the place I used to use racing-solutions there site is like no longer exist.

Ya i was using couplers from him and them just welding together mandrel bends that i buy online. I guess ill just get a ebay fmic and get that done. anyone have suggestions for ebay fmic's. I heard godspeed is good and MAYBE mishimoto, although I'm a believer that all those intercoolers are probably made by the same factory in china. I know that a lot of you guys have ebay fmics but I found this thread today while searching and have become kinda discouraged.

Why not just get a bigger intercooler? Ebay ones are cheap. Much better than trying to dink around with all that stuff imo.

well I ordered a Ebay intercooler labeled as "delta fin" which i guess is the way they say tube and fin. Main reason for ordering this one as opposed to a bar & plate is the little bit I read about ebay intercoolers bad heat retention over time, I'll post install and review after I get it and install.
