you really thought the camaro was a sports car? and really didn't know that the miata was? the camaro is a muscle car or a pony car, sporty yes, sports car no
miata, is everyhting that the origional eurpoean sports cars were without the electrical problems and oil leaks
the camero is big and bulky and not built to handle, they have a solid axle for gods sake, the miata is light and nimble and aside from the lack of power and the lack of a fixed roof is everythign the 240z was in it's time, the charm and handeling of the european sports cars wiht the japanese dependability
if the camaro were a spors car then you'd have to include every 4 seat rear drive 2 door, like the lincon LS, the chevy malibu, the ford LTD came in a 3 door is that a sports car?
carol chelby when asked to campaign the mustang by iacoca told hism this is not a sports car, and to make it a sports car they removed the backseat and out in a parcel shelf
and the new cobra ustang still had a sold rear axle, the same rear suspension found on mustangs since early 65, being powerful does not make a sports car, it's being built for sporting purposes and nto for practicality, extra seats and storage makes for a practical car, a sports car by definition is impractical, the 2+2's get a piggyback as they are based on the 2 seat Z, but the G35 is not, it's on par wiht the mustangs, camaro's challangers, IS300, RX8, 325 etc
the argument could be made that they don't have to be rear wheel drive, the berkley was front wheel drive and was a sports car
