Hey guys I just had a question that I was kind of curious to hear, before you got your Nissan/ Infiniti what other car did you have in mind?

I had the Luxus IS350 in mind...

Before I purchased my new daily (altima 3.5 SE) I was looking at a Mini Cooper S...very different type of car I know, but cool no less.

None. I've wanted a G Coupe since it was introduced in '03 but couldn't live with the interior in the previous generation so I decided to bide my time (4 years!) until they upgraded it. When the G37 came out it was a "no brainer" for me. I traded in an '06 SC430 for it. Haven't looked back.

We also have an FX35 and an M35 so we are an "Infiniti family" now.

I agree with you 100%.....as an 04 G35 owner awaiting delivery of a G37, the interiors are like a Days Inn vs a Ritz Carlton (respectively).....Infiniti's done a fine job on the interior of the G37......

Your welcome. We "Days Inn" people are glad that we could give you a solid platform to build off of for your "Ritz Carlton".

Was it the IS350 that had your eye, or the two hotties with wicked tight shorts?

Man, I was hot for the new Audi A5.. but the interior and features of the G stole me. The A5's still a hot car but when you consider reliability, power, features.. the G wins. I also considered a IS250 but again, the G looked better and fit better, with the seat back in the IS that middle bar was in my way and made it a pain to get in/out of the car.

An Acura, something with a TX and a red 'S' on the back. Geez, that was sooooo not cool, my wife wouldn't even let me test drive it. She wanted her man in a sporty car. Sorry Acura, she was right, of course. I can't imagine anyone turning their heads to look at a TXS, My G37 is eye candy!

I traded in an '03 Porsche 911 Turbo to get the G just yesterday. I wanted a car with all the amenities like navigation, bluetooth, automatic transmission, etc. that I didn't have in the Porsche. Sure, the G is a helluva lot slower than the 911, but I think I will be happier overall. Plus, the $1,500 a month car payments and $4,000 service visits were killing me in the Porsche.

I'm already on the waiting list for an '09 BMW M3. We'll have to see if I want to push that back to a '10 model after I have the G for a couple of months.

I would trade the G in or sell it before getting the M3. No real need to have both of them.

I too hate the interior of the '04 only because they used those volume buttons and stuff instead of knobs and the Nav screen was motorized it was spring loaded.

But they only tweaked the interior of the '05 by fixing the above which made a major difference. Technically, there is not much difference between the '04 and '05 interior as far as layout.

The '07 has a nice interior don't get me wrong but you have to have a starting point to build off of and I can't think of a better more solid interior to build from then the '05-'07 interior.

That's all I meant.

P.S. I also have driven the new Audi TT and it is a POS. Plus it is like stuffing yourself into a sardine can and the thing sounds like a rice burner. Bery uncomfortable car and I am still amazed when I see people driving them on the road. You could do so much better with $47K. IMO

I had been crawling all over 350z convertibles for over a year, waiting for the right time to sell my old ride ('00 Maxima SE). That time arrived when the '08 G came out....so much more car for the money! I'm in heaven.

I was thinking of an IS350, in that my wife’s IS250 is a pleasure to drive and I figured the increased horsepower would be to my liking. I also considered the G35 sedan. But after I test drove a G37 the decision was made.

I had an 03 Coupe, but didn't think the interior was that bad. I didn't like the pushbutton controls as much as the good ol' fashioned knobs like the G37 has though. Wasn't crazy about the orange instrument lighting either.

I was looking at the Acura TL-S, BMW 335i.

BMW was nice, but about 5K too expensive. The Acura was nice too, but I don't like front wheel drive performace cars, so I ended up with a great car in the G.

I was waiting to see if Lexus would come out with a redesigned SC430 and a good lease plan. I owned an SC400 and loved it, but never liked the design of the SC430. Once the G37 went on the VPP plan, it was a no brainer for me to trade my G35 for it. I will stick with cars made in Japan, since they are more reliable, you get more for your money and they have a better resale value.

Most of you guys made a wise decision on chosing a "G" because it is true the resale is much better and there hawt cars nonetheless
