Before I buy my first G35 coupe...

Greetings everyone! Im heading out to test drive my first g35 this weekend. Hopefully afterwards I will be trading in my s2000. Before I dig myself hole and end up with something Ill end up displeased with, I wanted to know a few things. Is the 5 speed "shiftable" automatic transmission useless for track use/racing? Are there any problems replacing the nav system and stock stereo head unit (i.e. one giant piece thats nearly impossible to upgrade) and is there any one year model that I should look for specifically? Do a quick search, and you'll find threads that might help you find the answer. The newer models fix a few problems, but at a higher price. The problems aren't necessarily deal-breakers, just good to know (i.e.-tire feathering in the 03-04).

The stereo will require you to purchase an aftermarket console unit, along with the bracket...plus a new AC controller. It's about $350, just to put in an aftermarket head deck...but it looks factory stock! Check out this site:
