Just wondering if anyone has experienced this -

When I start up my car and let it warm up a bit, I hear a beep that lasts a minute long. There are no alarms on the dashboard- my seatbelt is on, doors are locked, etc. After a minute the noise goes away. And then it comes back, for another minute. And comes back again. Does anyone know what this beeping sound is indicating?

Welcome aboard!

All I can think of is perhaps the "lights on" indicator...

Does the new M have parking sensors? Perhaps that's alerting as well.

Beyond that, let's see what the other M owners have to say.

Thanks for your input. My lights are off since i usually drive during the day time. And I doubt it would be the parking sensors, since i'm already driving

I haven't the foggiest idea what this is! I hope that someone else chimes in [pun intended] on this topic. Does the noise ever go away (like till the car warms up for example) or does it stay on all the time?

Which year and model M do you have?

Tire Pressure sensor. Check lower left side of Gauge ClLuster during start up, Orange/Yellow light in shape of tire. That is what it was for me.

it looks like we might be ruling out two things here.tire pressure vs. winter weather-it was suggested that it could possibly be the winter weather that is causing the beeps which might be indicating a false tire pressure warning. but when i check the tire pressures on the info screen , they all seem to be acceptable since there aren't any outstanding readings that would be indicated with an asterisk.. thanks for your help guys...!! does anyone else have any bright ideas?

You know, I would check the tire pressure with a good pressure gauge anyway. Just in case this is it and display readings are incorrect!

The internal tire pressure sensor may be acting up or needs a reset, etc. Make sure that the pressure is higher than 33 psi (around 36 psi or so is what I recommend to all M owners.)

If all else fails, it is time for a trip to the dealer, I guess. Please let us know what you find out eventually.
