Does anyone know what this tone is from? I notice it when I'm braking for about 2-3 seconds just before I come to a stop, there is a continuous low volume tone. I've tried it with traction control on and off and the tone happens regardless. Has anyone else noticed this and do you know why it happens?

The only time I've ever had a tone like that is when a wreck is nearly imminent. It has been quite a while since I have heard it, but it is possibly also only when adaptive cruise is on. It doesn't sound like you are slamming on the brakes with a car in front of you doing the same or anything, so it could be a problem with some safety system. That having been said, it looks like you have a 2011 where I have a 2006, so it may or may not be the same sound/system at all. Are you using adaptive cruise when this happens? Does the 2011 have the 0mph adaptive, and could it be that it is beeping because you are overriding it? Just some thoughts.

Good thoughts but I don't have the tech package with the adaptive cruise control and I wasn't using cruise control when it happened. It's not a loud tone, probably not even audible from passenger seat. When I'm going slow and brake to a stop, it doesn't happen, just happens when I'm braking normally(not jamming the pedal to avoid hitting something) to a stop from faster than 40mph. Breaking from under that speed it doesn't seem to cause that tone. ABS doesn't kick in so I don't think it's that, seems like it would be normal behavior. Thanks for the reply.
