Alright so about a month ago I bought this all stock black 2+2 w/ grey leather interior, because it was cherry inside and out with no rust or corrosion. When I say cherry I mean cherry no dry rot, all rubber trim excellent condition. All original glass with matching vin numbers. One owner car, no accident. Original paint perfect, interior perfect. with 52k original miles.

I probably payed way to much for this ride but it was local and only 80 miles away. And the car was original and unmolested, garage kept for so long, with very little wear. Would you pay 10K?

So I want to take this car to the next level, Its a worthy candidate for a TT swap in my opinion because its such a perfect shell. But I have 10k into the car not including the taxes.

My question is all things considered do you guys think its a waste of money, and that I will never get my money back out of this car if I choose to do this? And ever decide to sell her.

Or should I try to sell the car for 10k and try to find a 2+0 TT in as good as condition as this 2+2.

If i keep this car, I'm going to put the 99 spec front bumper and Twinz type 2 rear bumper. No wing. and debating on Kal sides depending on how the car looks with just changing those 2 bumpers. 18x8.5 front 18x9.5 rear. Will try to get LMGT4 rims but if not probably some other Volk or Rays wheels. With a slight lower.

You'll never make your money back on it. Sorry, it's just the truth. If you plan on keeping it, then by all means make it the way you want it. However, 10k deep already as an N/A, you're not gonna be able to squeeze 20k-ish out of a swapped 2+2. My advice?

If you really really want a TT, try and get rid of this. With the current market though, it's gonna be hard to find a buyer for 10k. You might have to take a hit if you're serious about getting TT.

If you want to keep it forever, swap that s***. You'll be proud if it, I'm sure.

Or keep it in mint condition, low mileage and hopefully it becomes a collector's item and gains value over time.

Black with Grey Interior, not likely in the next 30 years.

thats what I was afraid of. just like any car though no matter what it is dumping money into upgrades, is always pissing it down the drain. And ya not likely it will be anymore of a collectors car than it already is. Black is always a desirable color though. And I could of spent 5 grand in paint, interior and body work, or undoing rice among numbers of other mechanically things wrong with buying a cheaper abused Z as a project car. Which was my mindset when buying it and why I paid 10k for not having to do all of that work. All that being said it is what it is. Its a 300zx and nice one at that nuff said. At the end of the day I guess I will hang onto the car, and swap it somday. Money is tight right now and there is no need to do a swap to a perfectly running car at the moment.

Its just that I had been looking at Zs for awhile and everyone I say was always fked up somehow. And the ones that wernt were not for sale.

Story of my life. Not gonna lie, I got stupid lucky with both of the ones I bought. I saw the TT the day the guy put it in the driveway with the for sale sign on it. It still had water beads from being washed. It wouldn't have lasted long for the $5500 he was asking.

gratz man wow that is lucky. IDK what TTs go for in your neck of the woods, but suppose its all to do with condition and upgrades. That being said I'd expect a really nice TT in excellent condition to go for anywhere from 10-15k. Of course there are plenty of TTs that dont fall into this category that can be had for 3-8k if you wanted a project.

In my neck of the woods, you car in that condition goes for 10k and the same car but TT goes for 15k. Considering the prices in my area, I'd give you 10k for your car especially since I value OEM/mint condition over any modification. This is why I'm always surprised to see the prices that Z are sold/bought in other areas.

Yeah, Canada can keep those prices.

5500 would normally be a basket case, this one has been relatively good to me. Apart from the exhaust being rusted through and the brake calipers being seized, this car was in great condition.
