I've only got about 2-3 months left on my tires and I'm finally going to start buying parts for the 2" suspension lift (eventually add another 4" subframe lift).

So from what I understand here are my options: https://www.4x4parts.com/catal...341_8

Which would you choose and why? And do those with 32's get any rubbing?

When I pick my wheels do I need ones with an offset?

Thanks!

Billy

Well just by the opinions on the rancho shocks from everyone using them for the stock setup, I would say stray away from any option with them.

As far as wheels, what did you mean by the offset comment? All wheels have a specific offset, the pathfinder can hold I think a +10-15 or less depending on the wheel.

Good point! I emailed 4x4parts this same question and here was dude's reply:

"Rancho RS9000xl shocks are more expensive, but they have a knob that will allow you to fine tune your ride quality by turning the know and adjusting the valving of the shock. Bilstein shocks are second best as they are not adjustable, but are very good quality and come standard on many cars and trucks and they are less expensive then RS9000xl shocks. Rancho RS5000 shocks are the least expensive and are not adjustable. As far as front struts, GR2 struts are less expensive when compared to Rancho RSX1700 front struts which are self adjusting which will adjust for changes in road conditions and speed."

Does this information sound correct?

As far as the offset, I saw some rims that had a -6mm offset and I'm not quite sure what that means. I'm guessing it's that far offset from the wheel hub?

The lower the number, the farther from the hub it goes out, thats how offsets work essentially. A -6 should work on these cars, we a lift.

As far as what he said, it sounds alright, but hes literally just explaining that the ranchos adjust so that makes them cooler. I wouldnt go with rancho, especially since your lifting your car. I would do what people trust on this forum and do the bilstein I think it is. Its your car, but to many stories from guys here about rancho. I wouldnt want my own story, especially on a lifted truck.

This is the exact lift i went with https://www.4x4parts.com/catal...=1551, plus you might want to think about the rear bushings https://www.4x4parts.com/catal...=4998 (trust me it'llmake the ride a lot better), plus replacing the strut tower mounts (get OEM Nissan not aftermarket sh*t).

I run 32x11.5x15's on 15x8 rockcrawlers with like 3.75" of BS 7 the only rub I have is at full tilt (hits the strut tower every once in a while) & a little on the bottom of my front fenders. Rub kind of depends on what tires you go with & what wheels you go with as well.

i actually just bought that 2 in suspension lift. I went for the most expensive one because it comes with the bastein shocks and KYB struts and strut tower mounts. They are all good but i would recomend getting the KYB struts. My friend got the lift with the Rancho struts and he is now on his 3rd set of them because they keep breaking lol

So what's the diff between the Rancho and Bilstein shocks? Is there anything else that I need like extra long bolts for the strut towers or will the stockers be okay?

So what do all the numbers mean? I know that 32 is height and 11.5 is width. Is 15 the rim size? How about 15x8? I'm thinking about putting 17x9 wheels on it with some BFG All Terrains, will this setup work okay?

I had 31's on my old exploder and they lasted about 75K miles without rotation and drove well with little hum. Most of my driving will be freeway and the occasional trip to Baja.

Thanks!

Prefferance & price. Some people swear by Rancho, some people swear by Bilsteins, personally I think Bilsteins are better but I run Ranchos cause it was a little bit cheaper PS: you don't have to buy the struts & shocks from AC, you can just get the lift coils & get the extras from other places so its cheaper (thats what I did I just wanted to show you the "set-up" that I am currently running)

Yup

That is the demensions of my wheels

As long as the tire isn't too wide & the backspacing is correct.

Before you ask backspacing or BS is the distance from the inside rim surface to the backside of the wheel mounting surface. It determines how far a wheel (& tire) sticks into or out of the wheel well of the vehicle. Wheels with a lot of backspacing will stick further in. Wheels with little backspacing will stick further out. You don't want a ton of BS because the tires will rub the strut tower but you also don't want too little BS because they will stick out too far putting unneccassary stress on the wheel studs (holy hell my mind went blank & thats not the correct term but they are what hold you wheels on). 4-4.5" of BS should be fine any more & you'll probably rub.

Oh my God this post is long...
