V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

well its been a while since i was last here. alot has changed with the 500sx. it looks much better and runs like a dream. im not sure where i left off last time so here again is my car.

1989 nissan 240sx with a 302 V8
block bored 40 over to a 308.
Flat top pistons , ported E7 heads,
New CompCams big mutha thumpr cam and CC hi energy lifters
Edelbrock torker 289 intake, Holley 600 cfm 4bbl carb,
Street fire cdi ignition. accel super stock coil,
timing gear drive.
Polished fabricated allum. valve covers.
polished 2 row alluminum radiator.
B&M Z-Gate shifter,
Jasper AOD transmission.
all custom mounts and drive shaft.
and here is my winter addition:

that is a single unit. 2 turbos run in series. its a BW R2S two-stage turbo. and what a beast it is. Im gonna do a rear mount with a stand alone oil system.

mounts w/ plate welded to bottom for offset

bolt on right goes through stock 240 mount hole
mounted this way all i had to do is notch the front of the pan for the sway bar

i run between 160-170 in the summer around town.
if im on the highway its never above 160. i have a 160* thermostat in it. as far as fans go its just some advance auto universal electric. i was gonna get duals but i figure why spend the money if it stays cool.

im gonna start painting soon. and ive decided on black base with blood red candy. and an airbrush friend of mine is gonna do a gold leaf japanese flag on the front corner of the car under the candy. i also am working on having some "show" wheels copper plated. to get an idea of what it will look like check the link here.

if it were me. i would just mod the cross member so that the stock 302 truck mounts lined up with the 240 mounts and bolt together. i was in a rush and wish i would have done this. it would also have moved the engine closer to the firewall by about 3". and using a manual trans you want it as far back as you can go for shifter location.

a new adj. timing pointer
Proform 66878 SB Ford Alum Pedestal Roller Rockers 1.7 ratio
and got the blood red candy from Alsa so i can get it painted.
