Ok, I just need a straight up answer here... I'm going to replace the bearings in my SR while I have it apart, and there isn't anything really wrong with the ones that where in there, BUT...
Anyway, my question is I need one STD grade 2 and four STD grade 4 bearings, which is fine if I use OEM bearings, but what would happen if I used aftermarket like Cosworth?
Is it really a big deal if you don't have a matching grade? Will the oil clearances be too big, would it be a big deal if it were a little looser than factory?

I really don't want to cough up $100+ for just OEM mains, but if I have to, I have to.

I read an article a couple months ago about this exact topic, but now I can't find it. It basically just said that the different sizes don't have that much of a difference. This is for the KA:
Grade 0- 0.0717in
Grade 4- 0.0725in
Those are the 2 extremes of the bearing thicknesses, which is very little. Of course it would be better to go OEM and keep their exact measurements, but it probably isn't that big of a deal.

I have rebuilt MANY motors using non-OEM bearings and never had a failure. you will be fine.

No such thing when it comes to building your motor. You have no idea how much paranoia I had with JUST my headgasket on my SR because I was worried about it being too small.
