Hey,
I'm in the process of piecing together parts for a mild rebuild on the sr20. I read up on how to determine the correct oem bearings by reading the numbers on the crank and block, but I'm interested in replacing the bearings with ACL race bearings. However, when ordering from any website they don't offer the OEM sizes (Grades 0-6) but rather "Standard, 0.025, 0.25, 0.50". Do I just want standard? Don't you have to measure or use the stamped numbers to get a very tight tolerance on the bearings?
The rebuild is a project I plan for a month of the summer, I'll be sure to do a rebuild thread . Any recommendations on things to replace when in the bottom end? I don't want to separate the head at this point, but the bottom end will be apart, so I plan on the following:
ACL Race Main and Rod BearingsACL Thrust BearingsFront main sealTiming chain ?? (is this necessary? replacing the tensioner tomorrow)Water pump (this and the oil pump necessary?)Oil pump
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,Chris
