bearing in rear i think Differential??

I have a 1990 300zx n/a 2+0 And it makes a very loud humming noicew witch sounds like a wheel baring but the reason i think it has somthing to do with the driveshaft or differential is because if i am crusing and i lightly press the gas the sound is muffeled. so my question is how to drop the differential. i think u have to unbolt the driveshaft. and do i have to take the whole wheel and assembloy off. also how hard is this to do to swich all the barings in the rear differential.?
