Ok, I finally decided to try to get the P.O.S drivable. I have to cut one of the torque convertor bolts off because the threads are shot and the bolt won't back out.

Now, I know that the proper way to take an auto transmission out is to unbolt the torque convertor to flywheel bolts and unbolt the transmission from the engine, etc, etc. But I can't get that one bolt out.

So, can I pull the transmission off of the torque convertor while the engine is still in the car. I'm trying to not pull the engine and transmission out all together.

And ideas. And I'm not new to working on cars. So please don't post anything dumb.
