JUST got back from Englishtown raceway where the Drift Out Wednesdays are held by DG Trials (http://www.dgtrials.com). What an amazing time. I was only spectating, but some of the DG regulars truly tore it up (everyone in Aces High drift team).

The highlight of the night however, was watching the Signal Drift twins in action. Fumiaki Komatsu (Drifter X), and Chunky Bai (Drifter XL) were simply amazing, I can't even begin to describe their antics...starting sideways over 100 feet from the turn and then watching them come within inches of the retaining wall was something else.

High speed drifts that spit up rocks and rubber into the crowd as they fly past you was simply incredible. The only bad thing that happened was both Komatsu and Bai were doing donuts and managed to hit each other, with Komatsu going into the wall. I'm unsure of exactly how this occurred, due to the fact I couldn't see a damn thing through all the smoke.

Komatsu's ride was KO'd for the night (busted front end, mangled radiator, and dented intercooler), but Bai was able to make one more solo run (minus headlight covers, bumper, and passanger fender). These two drivers were truly amazing, and the cars were absolutly beautiful (before they macked up). Three runs were made, on short one early on (maybe 7-10 mins), the second one, which was cut short by the accident (about 15 mins), and a final one (Bai solo, about 15 mins).

I had an amazing time, and this event made my week. EVERYONE in the northeast area should attend the fall nationals at Englishtown raceway Oct 4&5 to see Signal in full effect.

Yeah, I had to throw that in there. You guys have been having drift events for years now. This was the first time any pros have come around here.

So Cal also has the best weather...maybe the only other advantage to livin there...

Uh, I got in VIP for free (thanks to rikki [signal]) and it was def. better to see the amazing feats of D1 than DOW.. I participated in DOW5 and for the $30 I spent to drift it sucked ***. I only got in 5 runs over a time period of 8 hours..Also, another reason why I wont be coming back to DOW is because of the drifting camaros and camry's and accords and civics that are out there. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against those guys. It's just that if i'm going to drive 5 hours, pay $20 in tolls, and $30 to get in, I atleast wanna see some relevent competitors. It embarasses me to a certian extent to be in line behind a civic waiting to drift. I know it isn't even a real competition or anything, it really IS about having fun and improving our skills, its just the atmosphere thats annoying about it. Needless to say, the time I did get out there was bliss.

FYI: yes, I sucked during DOW5, and yes, I do suck.

i saw X and XL here at nopi nats in september. those guys fookin rocked. it was like watching a couple of japanese rodeo clowns with bad *** cars:D everything apexi240 said was 100% on it as far as how close they got and their skill is amazing. and best of all, i didn't have to pay $25 to get into the show to see it, it was FREE! :ylsuper

and to think, i could've bought the transmission from Drifter X's car with a blown 2nd gear, signed by the man himself for $50, and i passed it up:( that would've been a nice piece of memorabilia:D
