Tighten down the wastegate and downpipe. Install IC piping and weld the BOV flange on the IC pipe connected to the turbo. Finish installing oil lines. Install the FMU and Boost gauge. Do something with all these vacuum hoses and connect the wastegate,BOV,FMU to some source.Hmm I think that is it. I hope next weekend will be nice. It rained Sunday or I would have had more finished. I am wondering if I could use the connector that the internal wastgate was connected to and use it on the external wastegate?

FPR is the most common and reliable.Quote »Hmm I think that is it. I hope next weekend will be nice. It rained Sunday or I would have had more finished. the connector is built on the turbo you can see it in the pic it has a black hose connected to it. It was connected to the internal wastegate. What is FPR?

Ok that's what I thought you were talking about. Yes that is a fine source for the wastegate. It will "tell" your wastegate to open at that psi before your intercooler pressure drop. You can also feed the wastegate on any vacuum/boost source. The FPR is the fuel pressure regulator. This provides the best boost readings as many have tee'd off this a couple of times without any problems. I'd feel a little uneasy doing that but it's up to u.

I guess I will use the connector the internal waste gate and use it for the external waistgate. That way I won`t have to plug it up. So you were saying use the FPR vacuum line for the FMU and the BOV?

yeah, the FPR is one of the many vaccum lines that you can "T" off of to get vaccum sources for your various components... Also you could use the brake master cyl vaccum, or any of the nipples on the intake manifold.

What do I need to do with all these hose lines? This is all the hoses that came off the intake plastic pipe that goes to the throttle body. Especially that one big fat hose that is about 2 inches in diameter.

Maybe I'm not seeing it correctly in the picture, but it looks like you could get a slim battery like a Genesis or something and squeeze it in there with the intercooler piping.

You could get a smaller battery but you can not hook up any amps to it! Plus I like a full size battery easier on the altenator.

I'm also very interested in this project.

Have some questions about the kit:

1) What kind of BOV did you get? I remember reading somewhere that BD was going to start using a Greddy Type S.

2) What kind of wastegate? Tial 38mm?

3) What are you running between the BD downpipe your exhaust? Are you running a cat? I was under the impression that the downpipe will only mate up with the BD exhaust that they're developing.

I've heard -6AN (Boost Designs oil return line) is too small for t3/4 turbos. Any insight here?-Jeff

The kit that I bought comes with a t3/4 turbo and the oil return line. I think it is big enough but if you want bigger you can always order the kit minus the oil return lines. Have fun installing anything bigger then what is supplied with the kit.

I do not know who makes the BOV or the wastegate there are pictures in this forum that you can look at the wastegate connected to BD downpipe and manifold. If you want I can take a picture of the BOV.

No the car is not running. A friend of mine who was going to weld the BOV adapter and shorten a pipe went to PRI show in indianapolis this weekend and is going to Hawaii next weekend. I hope I can get this done before he leaves this weekend. Talk about bad timing.

I am waiting on the correct oil fitting that goes into the block and the one that connects to the turbo. 2nd I am waiting for my friend who will have to cut and weld one of the IC piping and add BOV fitting. He is in Hawaii now and won`t be back until Christmas. So I am hoping that I will get done next week. Also have to weld a pipe for the turbo inlet. I am missing my 240, now I am driving a very very slow camry!!

It's not what you think. Call up turbonetics, precision engineering, garrett. It's what they think. And they all think that -6AN is too small for a t3/4 turbo. Their minimum recommended size is .5", -10AN is slightly larger, at .5xx". So, when asked what dash-standard fitting size they recommend, I got a resounding -10AN from them all.So ya. Your -6AN drain line is too small, and will cause damage to the turbo seals. However, the -3AN feed line is right-on.-Jeff
