HELP PLEASE! DESPERATE!!!

Question: I have an INCREDIBLY ANNOYING chime that begins @ startup - Used to persist for probably a few minutes - Now it's ALWAYS ON!

I read somewhere (On the net? On here? I can't recall) that this failing part might be the issue.

Has ANYONE had to replace yours? Is it possible for me to do so? (limited knowledge / limited tools / great work ethic and resolve! :chuckle: )

I'm "numb" to it at times and have "tuned it out" (thanks to the sound system) - But it SUCKS to have someone in my beautiful car and start it up...and then have to make excuses for that LOUD CHIME that lasts and lasts... :tisk: And FORGET trying to talk on the phone in the car with this LOUD NOISE in the background :facepalm2

Have you replaced yours? Was that the "fix"? Do my descriptions sound like what you might have experienced?

There are no "codes" it's "throwing" - I mistakenly thought my Elite warranty was still in effect (it'd just ran out) and ran it by the dealer here and they couldn't reproduce it...That was @ the beginning of this saga (when the chime was more intermittent than now)

There are no other things "wrong" which might cause the chime - No other faults that I know of...

Also, I recently broke :frown: just the "clip" that holds my arm-rest closed (the latch, perhaps the better word choice) - Is it possible to get that piece only replaced (that you might know of)? I have the console that has the DVD player in it (I read on here somewhere that the clip might be different due to the DVD player).

I have fired an email off to the folks @ infinitipartsusa.com (re: the clip / latch) - Just didn't know if anyone knew of another source. It's been a few weeks and no response from them - I should call I guess...

Thanks, in advance, for any light you guys / gals (?) might be able to shed.

My very best -

BigSikk

What I would do in this situation is remove the bcm and check the contacts. I believe there is a TSB that addresses a leaking windshield in the area where the bcm resides.
