I just thought I would share some information on the Stage 3 Brian Crower Cam set with the valve springs and retainer set on a mostly stock KADE naturally aspirated. When I was looking up the compatibility of these cams on a stock engine I was unable to find any exact information on the topic. Well I bought the cams and installed them anyway, and so far so good. These cams are mostly direct bolt on with the exception of clearanceing around the lifter bores in the head, as the cam lobes will hit them if you don't. There is not much material that needs to be removed. I would say it was just a few hundreths of an inch on either side that I needed to remove, and I have no contact on mine.
My first impressions of the Cams on a stock engine, ie: no fuel system upgrades, no tuning. The only other modifications being 3" cat back, cold air intake, mild gasket matching on the head and intake manifold on both exhaust side and intake side. I did a mild blend of the intake and exhaust ports on the head and smoothed out the runners a bit, with some mild bowl blending. The quench pad on the head is still intact.
So back to my first impressions, there is a noticeable increase in top end performance and a deeper, more agressive exhaust note. There isn't really a "lope" per say at idle like you would have with cams of this spec with a V-8, but there is a slight lope I suppose. It probably could still use a little bit of distributor adjustment to really dial the cams in.
If anyone has questions of comments about my experience with these cams in this application feel free to ask.
