I'm interested in using the wheel below on my new car and eventually lowering it with H&R springs. Wheel is 19x8 with a 43 offset, planning to use a 245/40 tire all around. According to Tire Rack this will work...my concern is any rubbing with the car lowered and adversely affecting the AWD system.

Does anyone have a similar setup? anyone see a problem with this? any comments/opinions on wheel quality/strength/weight? I've only heard good things about BBS wheels but these are almost $1K per and I want to be absolutely sure. Thanks in advance.

Those will fit fine without any rubbing issues and should be able to get away with a bit more aggressive offset as well. As long as you don't run a staggered wheel setup, you won't have any issues.

I'm contemplating a bit of a cheaper option...using the Rays forged 19's that came on the 07' G35 coupe. Even though the coupe has a staggered option, I can use the rears all around with the following specs: 8.5 wide, +33mm offset, weight 21 lbs, with a 245/40 tire. I'm assuming these wheels are hubcentric using the standard Nissan/Infiniti hub bore of 66.10 mm?

What do you guys think? any issues with lowering with H&R springs?

I can answer that yes, they are hub-centric. The rest I will let the G-crew answer

BBS wheels are top notch and they have been around for at least 20 years. 20 years ago they were making forged 3 piece rims. As a teenager - just gettin into cars the 3 piece BBS would be considered the best Rim of All Time for my generation growing up in NYC

I'm not particularly thrilled with the style of the particular BBS rim in Question but the quality is second to none.

BTW on Tirerack and even the BBS website I dont see fitments for the G??? Has this changed.

I didn't see the G fitments on the BBS site either, but they're there on Tire Rack. They didn't update 08' yet so select 07' G35.

I dont own a G but have look ALOT into them so one day in the future I will know what Im buying and what not, I also work at a tire/wheel shop so I know about wheels/tires, offsets, sizing, ect. Since you have an AWD its best to keep the same size tire/wheel all around.

Seeing that a 19x8.5 with a +33 offset will fit I wouldnt go with anything less.

The BBS wheels you are looking at are narrower, and will sit in ALOT more than the stock 19" forged wheels.

Since you are looking to pay allmost a grand a wheel I wouldnt mess it up because you will regret every minute of it... at least I would.

I personally would go out and see if anyones got a factory 19" wheel and test fit it on the front and rear to make sure of clearances. The I would go from there.

If the factory 19 fits nicely then get something with around the same specs.

Those are just my thoughts... I wouldnt want you to spend 4 grand just to have a car that looks booring because they wheels will fit like stock.

After some more research, the problems I see with the 19" Rays and an H&R drop are twofold...First, the wheels look too tucked in so spacers are necessary. You can see some pics here: http://www.g35driver.com/forum...83133Second, once you drop you have to deal with excessive camber and tires start to wear tires excessively unless you put a camber kit in.

Does anyone have experience with Tein lowering springs? they have a model that lowers only about an inch...maybe an alternative?

Well if the 19" rays are tucked that much, then the BBS wheels w/ 40 offset are completely out of the question. Tein makes two different springs. An H tech which is suppose to sacrifice ride quality and less drop over the S Techs. The H techs will probably give you a 1" drop or less, which would be ideal for alignment issues.

go with Tein S techs with a 19x9 +25 to 28 all around. That would be sexy.

They are the 03-04 350z track wheels made by RAY's. (f)18x8 w/30 offset, (r)18x8.5 w/33 offset. Each wheel weighs just over 18lbs. 235/45 tires all the way around.

If 18's are an option I have a set of forged 1 piece 18x9 +35 BBS that I've toyed with selling for a lot less then $1k per wheel. Not sure if the G35x can handle a 9" wide wheel all the way around??

My email info is in my profile.

Both of those wheels are pretty good looking, and either one would make a nice edition to your car. I didn't realize Rays made the wheels for the 07 coupes. I'm about to buy a set of BBS RX 18x8 wheels (i'd show a picture if i knew how to, but i'm new to this forum) for my '04 35x which are considerably cheaper than the RS-GT wheels. Anyone have some suggestions for tires? I want some all seasons that are reasonably priced... I was looking at possibly some Bridgestone Potenzas

Rays made 19" wheels for the 05-07 coupe.

Ahhhh.... a thread where I have a bit of knowledge on.

I <3 BBS. I have had 4 sets of them for my GTi, a set of RSs, LMs, RCs, and the stockers for winter. They're hard to beat for quality and structure.

Here's the weird part. Tirerack really doesn't offer a lot of BBSs that fit the G35. They have 12 wheels, but most of them are 18s and a few of them are the same wheels with a different finish.

If you really plan on throwing some serious coin on these wheels, I highly suggest checking out their japanese site. It's http://www.bbs-japan.co.jp. I did a search for the Z33 and there are a few more wheels on there that would fit.

Someday I will have 19" LMs on a G35 Sedan.
