Bazooka subs

Anybody here use them in their 240 or anything else? Haven't heard them in person. Just wanted to know because they look like the ideal size for the compact 240 trunk (I have a hatch). How many would I need to compare to a regular 10-12"? Also, how's the quality? I've heard mixed reviews but that goes for almost anything I guess.

the bazooka subs are not that great. peopel generally use them in jeeps because of lack of space. in your case you can go with 2 10 with a qlogic box and it will fit pertty good. the sound quality will be much better than bazookas.

I beg to differ. I have two in my Maxmia and the sound great. People think that I have 12's or 15's in my car. Keep in mind that I upgraded the speakers in them. Even the new out the box they can add a lot of bass with modest amp power. The do function well in trunks but better in trucks and hatchback. I say go for it you will not be disappointed.

I used to sell them... they're okay in a hatch or suv, especially if you want just a little bass... not too good for a sedan

your better of getting those shallow subs from kicker or another brandi dont really suggest bazooka

As the old saying goes, there's no replacement for displacement. You can't make a little speaker function like a big one

I have one in my T/A and I can't complain at all. Being a hatchback, I honestly only use it 1/4 of its potential. Having an open cabin makes them much more audible. You will only need one.

My setup is a 10" Audiobahn DVC. I built it with a premanufactured tube and added my own 10" sub. It was cheaper than a Bazooka, but you will have to get an amplifier for it whereas the Bazooka has an internal one. I didn't mind because I also amplify my other speakers. I can bump bass with the best of 'em but I don't care much for thumpin' these days. I'm more for clarity and crispness.

Even if you don't go my route, getting the Bazooka brand isn't an awful choice at all. You should still be happy with the noise, you'll conserve space, and people won't break into you car for your system because "its just a bass tube."

Incase anyone is wondering, you can make your own "bass tubes" using those round cement forms of whatever diameter you need with plywood or MDF endcaps. They're amazingly cheap to make. Folks in the home audio world will build much larger versions because they're cheap and easy.
