It is amazing. I loved BF2 modern combat but in Bad Company you can destroy so much stuff. I call myself the lumberjack bc of all the trees i was destroying. I can not wait till the game comes out now.

Anyone looking forward to this game?

BF2 was the first online FPS that I played a lot, so I had to try out the demo for PS3.

It seems like the game will contain single player now? It has alway had a single player option but the demo's single player has a few objectives to complete, rather then just multiplayer with bots.

The unlock system is kinda a mix between BF2, 2142, and COD4. Ranks give you unlocks and you can choose between accessories and a new weapons, but none of the "unlock trees" from 2142. Also certain guns are not unlockable until a certain rank.

The multiplayer is a new mode, One team defends the other attacks. The attacking team has to destroy two targets to advance on to the next set of two, pushing their way across the map.

I have read they have plans to release the BF2 style of multiplayer for free after release as DLC.

Seems like it will be a really good game, I am having a lot of fun playing the demo and if you get all the ranks you will have an extra unlock when the game comes out.

Singleplayer, really?

I might have to look into this, then. I liked BF:Vietnam a lot, but wished it had a real singleplayer campaign.

Does BC still play like a Battlefield game?

EDIT:Oooh, this game has the Hind gunship! Baddest rotary-wing aircraft ever.

I haven't read article on it, so I dunno what they are promising, but the demo's single player has you move in and secure a location until backup arrives, then move forward and eliminate radar jammers so air support can strike...

So yeah, I think it will be more of that...plus they have 4 main charicters and stuff so it seems like there will be a plot and everything.

I remember when I got BF2 I was kinda surprised there was no single player.

I watched some of the vids that EA put out about the game on gametrailers.com I'm pretty stoked about it now.

I'm digging the destructible terrain deal. It's about time they introduced that into a game, because now sniping will be a true art. "There's a sniper? Blow up his nest!". Also, destroyed terrain tends to make some awesome battlefield changes that should hopefully make each round feel different from the last.

I kind of wish they'd go with the larger scale multiplayer from 2142. I've always liked how the squad/commander system was set up in that game. It was also really rewarding if you had a good squad that knew how to work well with each other. My friends and I squadded all the time together and would get some insane points totals at the end of maps because of how well we supported each other.

The new default MP mode is called Gold Rush, which plays similar to attack and defend modes in other games and the Dev claims that the standard conquest mode will be available at launch as free dlc due to popular demand. The only real gripe I have with the game is the FOV, it seems like you are always zoomed in a small bit, its similar to the issue bioshock had on the 360 almost as if the game isn't running in native 16:9 and they are zooming it in to compensate?

BF2 was way better for larger scale, but they got hard to fill I guess and no one every plays them...2142 I though was kinda scaled down/boxed in a tiny bit, but not too bad.

This one is a little bit smaller, but still more open then most games. I am a big fan of running all the way around the back and coming in behind people, and thats at least still very doable.

Since you are pushing forward and working your way through the map it seems smaller though. Each time you capture the two points you set up a new base of operations there, so you are always working between two encampments giving it a little smaller feel. We will see how it goes if they add conquest, that would open it up more. Hopefully if they do do that it comes with new maps though, Gold Rush tends to lend itself to a series of capture points in a row and conquest should be more spread out.

You still have the PS3 hijacker? the demo is in the store if you haven't played it. Worth a download and you can earn unlocks for the game once its out.

ive spent more time on this demo than i would like to admit. i havent even picked up cod 4 since this was released.the destructibility is the coolest thing ive seen in awhile. enough grenades and mortar strikes, and the bases where you spawn dont even look the same.i like to think of this game, so far, as warhawk with cod4 graphics....ish. lol

Are people on other console FPS's as bad at the game as the people playing this demo? This is the first FPS I have played on a console since the first socom, but I am top 3 all the time... I suck so bad with joysticks but I even take 1st often enough. I do much better then at computer FPS's that I play much more often.

This worse than normal because its a free demo so more scrubby players have access to it...........however consoles have a larger group of players that totally suck and that group of players tend to be very vocal about how them sucking is not their fault but due to the game being "gay".

some of the people playing do suck really bad. ive only finished worse than the top three in about 5 matches so far.i just hope they fix the matchmaking in it. i dont know how many times ive played a horrendously lopsided game. like 4 on 2 or something like that. even if everyone on the other team quits, the game doesnt end. that blows hard

I enjoyed the singleplayer mission in the demo. I might have to pick this one up. I like the blend of BF gameplay with story-driven objectives.

Yea I Liked the demo alot. I might be picking this up. But I hated the fact that the tank blew my *** up through the house. Realistic yes but annoying lol.

I spent like 30 minutes blowing up the first village that you go into during the demo. Pretty fun.

I was playing online yesterday and man do these people suck. Half of my team didnt know what they were doing so we lost every round. I tried explaining it to them, but I didnt know if they heard me or not because no one talked back. Still a kick *** game though.

yeah, the group on demo makes me feel like a pro...Gotten raped a few times though.

Defending is the worst. People in online FPSs don't defened, they are action hero.

I am so tired of seeing my whole defending team run off to spawn kill the enemy base while they sweep through blowing up our crates.

Actually you are right they wouldn't hear you, each 12 man team is broken up into 3 squads and you can only communicate with your squad. In theory its a good idea because it cuts down on unecessary info but that assumes you're squad actually works together which in a pubbie game will never happen.

this game is soooo much fun to play. especially if your squad actually knows what the hell they're doing lol. it's such a refreshing break away from COD4. can't wait until I get to play the other maps, multiplayer modes, new weapons, etc. this game is a most DEFINITE pick-up

..and oh yeah! Support Class pwns all

..just one question though... how the HELL do you win when you're defending? I've won on defense before, I just don't know how. do you just need to hold off attackers for a certain amount of time? or kill a certain number of people? I don't get it.

There are 3 bars at the top of the screen, the two small one represent the health of your two gold crates and the 3rd large one represents the remaining enemy reinforcements.

So I'm playing the online demo this weekend with some friends over. I'm good in 2142, but only because I've been playing that for forever and a day, and my clan mates and I back each other up really well.

Btw, I suck at console FPSes and I was still pulling top 5 duties. The only time I fell below that was when I would be driving a tank and a teammate would decide he needed to be flattened.

All in all, the demo makes me want to buy the game. The gold rush mode is kick ***.

I just wish this was being released for the FPS birthplace. PC.

I am with you....other then the fact that BF2 >> BF2142

But some how I have the same accuracy in the demo as I do in BF2... May be partially because my noob stats, and partially because in BF2 I will fire at anything so long as I am not trying to hide.

Still surprises me (about 22% if anyone was wondering)

I never played BF2, so 2142 has been my only battlefield game. I really love the size of 2142. 32v32 maps are just freaking rape fests in Gibralter and Cerbere

I downloaded the demo and tried out single player and multiplayer tonight. Both are pretty good, but I doubt I'll be picking the game up. Just don't have the time to invest in another game.

The graphics and destructible environments are really cool.

Its cheap as hell now man, and still really active...Pick it up Its on the same engine, so graphics are just about as good...Maps range from 2142 sizes to bigger, and guns work a bit better. 2142 guns kinda blow TBH, other then the adjustable sniper scope which kicks a lot of *** (so much better then most games, since one click goes between scope and not scoped...rather then having to go through all the zoom levels to see what is going on around you like some games.

Sadly I am still really really broke. Once I get some money I am gonna pick up this, MGS4, and a bigger HD for the PS. My birthday is late July so I will have them by then at the latest.

got my copy.. actually just played for about 7 hours straight lol. and I haven't even TOUCHED the single player! this game is sooo much fun (multiplayer anyway). I'm glad I'm playing with only those that actually own the full game now, people on the demo were really starting to suck. the maps are awesome. it's not like COD4 where some maps were made for certain gun types (ie: Overgrown was made for sniping, Vacant/Shipment were not). in BF:BC, any class can be effective on any map. one thing that surprised me was the multiplayer modes. there ARE none.. just Gold Rush. I haven't played any other Battlefields since BF2, so forgive me.. but I thought there was going to be more multiplayer modes, such as Team Deathmatch, CTF and the like. guess not. I know there is a patch coming soon with a "Conquest Mode", so hopefully that fills in the gaps a little. I'm also pretty bummed that you can't transfer your stats/rank/weapons from the demo over to the game.. i was under the impression that you could.

I've seen some using the rank 4 demo Uzi unlock in the full game, so I'm unsure of how the carryover worked. My guess is you restart at 0, but if you unlocked the uzi, you can equip that.

Btw, the uzi is overpowered IMO

There will be conquest mode added in via patch. I just know EA will be slow to do that. That's almost always a given with them. I'm also hoping for assault lines style of gameplay too. That was kick *** in 2142
