I used to watch the ever living crap out of this show. Kinda sucks its only been signed for 6 episodes, and they're changing into some kind of reality show, but hey, I'll take it!

Apparently they've removed weight restrictions. This should be interesting. Make a 3 ton robot that throws smaller robots at your opponent.

Never watched battlebots, but I did watch a lot of Robot Wars back when Craig Charles was the host.

Certainly good to see this kind of show coming back!

I liked battlebots. I wanted to build one, but there were no other robots to mercilessly demolish.

They were pretty wildly expensive. I think they were pushing 10-20k for the really successful ones.

Maybe that's cheaper now with better batteries and stuff. Who knows.

Yeah, a lot of school tech shops were building combat robots as class projects when I was in Jr. High and High School. I know they were ridiculously expensive, and they weren't even in the same league. Powerful brushless DC motors like most of those bots use are not cheap. Then you have the control modules and radio components and it gets very expensive in a hurry.
