hey all,

just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how my Battle Version front left t/c rod snapped. i was backing out of a parking space with my wheel turned to the right when it snapped at the threads closest to the left lower control arm. i have the first version they released (the red ones). :squint:

the other suspension i have in the front are BV lower control arms, tein tie rods, tein springs and koni shocks.

thanks,

Jayson.

it's weird because they've been fine for 3 years now. now all of a sudden snapped while backing up. i'm just glad i wasn't in the street when it snapped.

What do they have for the bushing? Is it a spherical metal rod end?

Bearing not/never centered causing binding that after 3 yrs stressed the metal to point of fracture?

I had a Peak outer tie rod snap one day when I was parked after replacing my steering rack bushings I was cranking the wheel left and right to make sure my rack wasn't shifting. It looked like a bad molding to me you could see where it snapped and how it wasn't bonded about half way through, I went with MOOG after that. I wish I would have taken some pics of it. :(

doesnt suprise me..... OEM or moog parts are best for tie rod ends.

i dont like the design of the aftermarket ones.

i picked up a set for my s12/s13 front conversion (it was a similar design) and they were sketch.

stuck w oem ones and just shortened them a tad to fit.

no rust, and the ends are the "self-lubing" spherical type. i've had these for about 6-7 years though. i thought they would outlast the car though haha. i said 3 years in an earlier post because i upgraded the LC arms (being connected, might have to something to do with the break).

waitin' on battle version to see if they'll warranty them.
