I went up to Lancaster Speedway to shoot Battle at the Border for my buddy RJ again this year. I took 1129 pics lol. Here's some of the good ones.

We had a great day to drift. Clear skies, 75 degrees, not a spot of rain all day.

As usual, there were a lot of S chassis. Had a few Beemers and a Z there too. and 1 "other", you'll see.

I made more slide shows this year to try and make the thread a little cleaner.

This was Mike, one of the Canadians. Nice guy.

And the surprise, Idk who this guy was. He told me he bought the truck a week ago, lowered it, put it on the road 2 days before the race, and here it was.

And it wouldn't be a drift day if no one crashed.

Wade (who also crashed last year) got the wall when his steering column snapped.

While we were all checking out Wade's damage, one of the rookies crashed. The world is now minus one more Z32.

:frown:

At one point I made it over to the drag strip to check out the stunt bikes. Most of the time I spent on the oval with the drifters, so I didn't get a lot fo shots.

This guy saw me with the cam and stopped to show off. I had to walk away, otherwise I don't think he would have stopped.

In the end we all had a good time and that's what matters.

There are even more pics in the album, as well as all the stills form the slide shows.

Thanks for reading. I still have to mail out a bunch of pics to some people I promised and I'm gonna make a vid for Suislide using my stills. I swear I spend more time uploading and processing pics than taking them lol.

Holy crap. You came all the way down here for a track meet? Wish I knew about it.

Also, seeing stunt people do it without gear makes me sick.

Edit: Nevermind. Thought that was in PA.

I think the problem was he couldn't see the track.

That's one of two reasons it is up there. Traditional radiators / intercoolers depend on the car moving forward through the air to cool them. When a drift car goes sideways, the bumper in effect blocks air from moving past the intercooler. This mounting style allows for better cooling in these situations. Secondly, the engine was not disabled at all from the accident. Any traditional intercooler would be ruptured and the car would not run. He limped it back to the pits still running. Despite the heavy damage to the front end.

I think he should have plumbed up to the roof. That would be classy.
