Hey, I'm relatively new here and read around for a bit but I'm in a bind where I need to sell my z this weekend and i just changed the battery after it was dead for a while. The problem is that once I placed it back in and wired it back up the engine won't crank at all, all the fans turn on and the windows go down when I press the up button and up when I press down. Did I install it backwards or is there something more going on here that I just don't know about? Please respond quickly I have like 8 hours to figure this out. I will upload a picture of the battery soon. Please and Thanks

The battery should be placed with the positive towards the outside and the ground towards the inside (towards the engine). Hope this helps, as I can't do much without more info to go on.

yeah, if you reverse the power to negative the electric fans/windows will reverse and work opposite. just turn your battery around if you feel like you pit it in wrong and see if the electric motors work the right ways. if they do you should be good.

Thanks that fixed it right up. I got confused with the colors because I saw the red on the ground and thought that was the positive terminal. It fired right up though so none of the electrical systems got damaged, I think. The only thing is that now my cylinders 2,4 and 5 aren't firing and the last time I drove it only 5 wasn't firing. Could it be bad spark plugs by chance?

possibly, are you talking about your coil packs? unplug them and check them with a autometer and see what the resistance is through them, the specs are in the FSM on here.

The coil packs are fine as I switched them out with the other ones that were still firing and they were still sparking. I read something that it could be due to a bad fuel injector but that doesn't seem plausible as the car just wasn't turned on for a while.
