battery ?

i just bought a 93 240sx and it wont start unless i jump it, i put 3 differnt batteries in it same thing and i know there good casue i took them out of my other cars now why will it start only when i jump it even with a good battery in it please help

Does it have this problem when you first put the battery in, or does it start the first time then have trouble afterward?

Sounds like an alternator, IMO.

If it's not acting like I said at first, then your car is somehow discharging the battery all the time. Did it have any stereo or other aftermarket electrical crap in it?

does it when i first put the battery in it, there was an after market system in the deck was gone, but all the wires are still there but i took out the fuse for the amp wires since i dont have them hooked u p to anything, like i said i even put a brand new battery in it and had to jump it right after i hooked it up

That's really strange, did you have the batteries tested after you tried to start it?

Sounds like you've got a bad connection, did you clean your terminal clamps?

I don't think it could be the starter or ignition system, otherwise the car wouldn't start at all... then again, I have a gremlin just like this one but it's intermittent. Get the starting/charging systems checked, I think Autozone is doing that stuff free right now.

yeah there testing them free right now, i need to check the connection better i think but soon as i hook the cables up starts right up, after i unhook them they car runs till i turn it off, took the battery out and put back in my mazda started right up so i know the battery is good i think it just has a weak connection somewehre
