So my battery crapped out on me the other day. Got a replacement at NAPA. It sure is not just pop the thing out and drop the new one in deal with the M. It took me an hour to do it. Then the plastic cover for the positive terminal popped off and dropped into the engine bay and it took me 1.5 hrs to find it
One advice from the experience - don't do it at night.

lol. sorry man. It should be pretty straight forward (I've never done it). Sure as hell isn't a BMW. just google it, trust me.

You can do things at night, just have a work light with you when you do it. *smart* :chuckle:

The relativly large amount of work needed to change the battery was one of the first things I noticed when I was considering the M56 as my next car. Looked like a royal pain compared to my other current and past vehicles. It was not a deal breaker though.

One more thing that was not helping is the fact that the oem Nissan battery doesn't have any king od handle. You got to stick your fingers in there to lift it up. And the damn thing is heavy.

Yeah, the factory batteries on these cars sucks azz. mine took a s*** on me at around last fall, and the dealer replaced it under warranty. I'm praying that the one I have now will make it through this winter.

You could buy one of these and it might be worth it:

Most aftermarket batteries have a carrying handle,so after the initial change that won' be a problem.
I would bet the best solution is to buy a good deep cycle battery or a marine gel battery . I only know Optima, but I don't see the top of the line yellow top available for our cars . http://www.optimabatteries.com/en-us/fi ... ton=Search

Any other heavy duty battery suggestions ?
