DOC, AppleBonker.....I'm going to changing batteries in the car. What would be my best bet for this. (I'll be running the Rockford t400-4 amp, Mmats 2200.1 amp, I have Aftermarket HID's for the H/L and Fogs. I am at the same time lookin into doing the Big 3 upgrade and the Scientist's Grounding Kit)

1) Optima Red Top under the hood and Yellow Top in the trunk2) Optima Red Under The Hood and Kinetik HC1800 in the trunk3) Optima Red Under the Hood and Kinetik HC16V in the trunk

Which would be my best bet? If none of the above, what would you do?

If it were me, I'd try to go with the same brand and model line in both locations. I've been happy with Kinetik, so that's what I would recommend. I would say probably an HC1800 both up front and in the trunk. If you're going to go Optima, I believe the Red Tops have more cold cranking amps (which is good for car audio) than the Yellow Tops. Although, I personally think Kinetik stuff out performs Optima stuff.

Also, avoid the HC16 as it was designed to run at 16 volts (I know it can be used at lower due to the two terminal post system they have). It is probably comparable in cost to the HC1800, but the 1800 would give you far more CCAs.

I say Kinetik HC1800 in both the front and the trunk...

OPTIMA is NOT what it used to be 5 years ago... they started to recycle their batteries and sell them as NEW-RECYLCE batteries... my local audio shop ahd so many individuals return with failed batteries that they stopped carrying the OPTIMAS altogether... I and many others used to SWEAR by OPTIMA, but they aren't what they used to be... KINETIK FTW!!!!

Any recommendations as to where the best place is to get the batteries from?

To be perfectly honest, I took a risk and bought mine off eBay. Managed to get three of them though (long story - HC1400, 1800, 2400). I thought about using the 1400 underhood first, but that thing is tiny. So I bought the 1800. Got decent prices on them, and they obviously worked. Bit risky, but for only about $200, I gambled.

yeah, I did the same thing (bought my HC1800 from ebay), except I found an ebay store up in LA, and bought them and picked them up directly from there... that way, any problems, and they sai I could just return it... haven't had any problems yet (fingers crossed)

I just figured the OP wanted authorized dealers...

it's all good bro, I found a place online that has them from http://www.audiowarehouse.peac...0.htm for $206 a piece. Just was wondering if this is a good deal and if you have come across this dealer before?

ONE MORE THING....What happened to the thread about you selling your sub and box?

Ok, went back through my records and here's what I found. I bought my batteries from eBay stores Audio Savings and Indo Audio. They both worked out well for me. I think I bought the 1800 from audio savings for around 215 shipped. I've never used audiowarehouse before, but you can always buy using paypal and get your money back if they screw you. Scratch that, it looks like just a website. I dunno about that one. Maybe someone else has used them, but it looks a touch sketchy to me.
