Ive been trying to understand some of the posts here on battery relocation, but I havent been too successful. All I want to do is relocate the battery to the other side of the engine bay:

Ive seen some people wiring the + to the starter solenoid, or something, buts its kinda confusing. Anyone have a cliff notes version?

Basically just make sure you have all the connections you originally had. To avoid running two cables from the battery to the other side, jumper off the alt[starter](not sure which). Run one cable to the alt[starter], then jumper from that point to the fuse box. Ground the battery to chassis no more than a foot from the (-) terminal. Don't neglect the other grounds, they'r equally important.

I'm curious why you are putting the battery there - don't you have a relay box over there(<1990)? Are you putting your air intake/filter in the old location? The driver side area is ideal for a cold-air extension, because there's lots of room in the front-lower portion of that fender.

Well, you can just connect a 4-2 gauge wire to the terminal that usually would connect to the positive side of the battery, run that wire by the radiator and outside to infront of the ac condensor, then run it back inside the engine bay to the battery's new location. Ground the negative to the chasis and have one ground go to the head of the engine. There should be a stock engine ground at the rear of the engine on the driver side. For the relocation, I'm not too sure because the sheet metal on that side is very very thin where as the battery is quite heavy and should you hit a couple of bumps now and then, eventually the hammer action of hte battery will damage it quite badly. Which is why so many relocate it to the back instead of the driverside. Just a word of warning.

Yeah, Im gonna put a intake on the old side, Im not going for cold air, just shorter and cooler. I gotta take out my windshield washer resovoir anyway so maybe I'll just direct some air to the spot. And yeah there is a relay box over there, but it can be flipped up like in the pic.

Is it really that thin? Awww man...I didnt want to go through the trouble of relocating to the trunk...hmm..decisions, decisions

Haha, nice pic. Pull that from my website? I still haven't done the ol' shorty intake to the other side, too many other things to worry about on my car. The battery fits there in the <'90's if you flip up the relay box (as in the pic). Although, better and easier would be to just get a smaller battery. I seriously doubt a well tied-down battery would ever push through the sheet metal on that side, well, unless it's rusted like mine.

LOL, I couldnt remember where I got that pic. Its been on my computer for a while now. Sorry for ripping it, but couldnt remember who's it was.

But Im gonna have to either get a smaller battery or do the trunk relocation, because I still have the carbon canister and I see you dont.
