Gettting ready to relocate the battery for my FMIC, The question I have is what to do with the original terminal connections.

I am thinking of using a car audio power distribution block for to merge the existing power wires into one large cable that came with my battery relocation kit. Can those connections just be cut off?

Also what about the ground cable? If I am grounding the cable in the trunk, will I still need to use the ground cable near the battery tray? If not do I just eliminate it completely?

Thanks in advance

Yes, cut the connections off and run them into a distribution block. As for the ground wire, you can get eliminate it. Ground the battery in the back somewhere.

nismofan14 - thanks man

as for the kit, I just bought the kit from Summit Racing. Has everything you need except the distribution block for about $52 shipped IIRC. Came with all cables, connections, battery box, tie downs, etc. I have heard of people putting their own kits together but I am too lazy to go shopping around

Glad I could help.

If you feel like shopping around, here what used:

Battery box from Walmart $5

2 gauge wire from previous stereo systemdon't remember how much but I think its somewhere around $1.50/ft

Dist. blocks and battery terminals from previous stereo install

You really only need one dist. block and terminals from walmart will be fine but I had stuff from my old stereo setup and my friend owns the car audio shop so I kinda get a discount on fancy gold plated teminals and dist. blocks.

Is there an alternative to using a distribution block up front to join those wires in the red connector together?
