the main reason that people do it is to be able to do a fmic with the sr. if u want to do the fmic then the piping has to go right where the battery is, so u move it to the back

you know, I had a question about this.. sorry to jack your thread but:

I heard rumors of the 240's chassis being a really poor ground due to a certain amount of spot welding. Is this true? and if so, is there any remedy? (aimed at those who have the re-loc kit done already.)

i thought u could buy a slim battery, leave it where it is, and be ok with the front mount?

Jack away, I never new the real reason for this. If it doesnt help performance or handling i guess i would leave it. I thought if i was doing a swap and it would help, what better time to move it

you should get that oddessey brand batter that SCC talked about in one of thier recent issues, they are really small and light weight, and can be mounted anyway, anywhere except unside down

I do not appreciate people who give the almighty "use the search button" reply. 99% of the time you don't find what you are looking for while you are searching, it's much easier and faster to just created a new thread.

moving additional weight to the rear, and adding space to the engine bay...made sense to me.

Takes an hour to move it to the rear and can be necessary if you have any sort of amped system in your car, b/c slimline batteries just don't have the same amount of cold cranking amps as normal batteries. I have it moved with my KA b/c it keeps things cleaner in the engine and my FMIC is going in next week along with my SR anyway. Also it's cheaper to move to the trunk than getting a slimline battery.

where did you FB guys mount it in the trunk? I have the kit but couldn't really find a good place to mount the box.

Any pics you have would be great!

Here's where I mounted mine, on the right side of the hatch. If I didn't have the sub box in my right rear corner, I would have put it in that little nook.

i put it left rear (the gas tank is on rt rear) I ordered the Summit battery relocation kit and a summit kill switch (so i could run at the track like that)

I screwed the marine box down to the floor on the left rear then i dropped in the battery and put some wierd alien foam around the batt to keep it from moving. Cover, strap and go. No problems.
