Im trying to make plans to do a battery relocation, but my question is where to mount it? A good place it would be right in between the strut mounts...but I MIGHT get a rear sturt bar. The only space it would seem to be is close on top of the gas tank. But you gotta drill holes right? I dont know what to do. A little help please?

pass rear corner is best for weight transfer on the launch... and you can actually drill holes there.

Nothing underneath to be worried about?

I was kinda debating if it was worth it for this custom intake I bought or just buy a regular hotshot intake.

Well other than the gas tank, no.

I mean under the passenger side corner where it was recommended.

The guy I bought the intake from had his battery in the trunk. I just cant contact him right now.

You think I should just get a regular intake? And dont bother with the hassle?

I'm not saying you can't mount it on the pasenger side, but just be VERY careful. As for intakes, the kind you want/have is nice, but probly only yields a minimal gain over a traditional intake. Batter relocation is more common for IC piping purposes where it's actually needed.

Good point...damn, guess I'll go ahead and just order a hotshot intake.

you CAN put it in the pass. side, but of course you have to watch where you drill. But the trunk floor is sheet metal and the gas tank is thick, you'll feel it when you punch through the trunk floor. But yeah, look before you drill. unless you like fireballs.

Yeah I just put a little piece of metal going between the back frame hole and then used a bungie to attach it to there. I wanted to drill into the trunk but I know I'll hit the gas tank, so I need to mark it off to make sure I don't. Yeah, excuse all the stuff in the trunk. The negative is attached just above where the strut is.

Yes that is febreeze (with me in the car, it's a necessity) and the orange thing is a cone to hold up the trunk because I broke it. It's hard to believe, but my car was in really good condition before I started driving it.

I mounted mine in the back right (passenger) corner without any problems. The gas tank is there but it curves up at an angle there, so there is plenty of room to not hit it when you drill through. Seriously unless you dont know how to handle tools you shouldnt have any problem avoiding the tank-- just dont let the drill bit snap through the hole once you cut through.

sure just buy the 1"x1" square tubing up at this shop near the crib, bring it over to my garage and ill cut, weld, grind that box frame for you, drill some holes and good to go. it will take a few hrs but it will be worth it.

I mounted mine where fiznats is but it is oriented longitudinally so I still have access to my fuel pump without removing the battery. Mine is a plastic box and not quite as bulky. Retrospectively, I should have just ordered a braille battery from dg trials and tucked it under the hood, but ... oh well.
