Battery Problem?

Hi all

Just replaced my sons battery on his 300ZX because it was as dead as a dow dow. It was an 08/11 everstart MAX35S.

Went to local batteries plus and picked up a new Rayovac battery, but they said the everstart should not have gone that quick so they put a tester on and said the alternator was fine but we had a bad diode, but they didnt know what that meant

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

There are diodes inside the alternator, sounds like the alt needs changed or a second opinion or both.
