hey everyone i just recently bought a 91 240sx w/ the DOHC motor, and at first it would start right away except once on the lot.. but now its more like 80% of the time it will start and 20 % it won't. the motor doesn't even crank over.If it were a bad alternator wouldn't there be a check engine light? My old car did the same thing and i figured it was just some oxdation on the negative terminal.. but this car isn't the case. Could it be the positive terminal perhaps? also if i need a new battery what are the specs i should look out for like cold cranking amps etc...?

thanks to all that help

I have a problem with my battery....

the problem that I have is that the positive cable comes with the factory pluggs.. and the pluggs are loose so every once in a while I have to jiggle them in or else my battery will go dead...

try doing that and see.... this is because one of the wire in the big plug is coming from the alternator so if that gets loose then the battery is not getting charged... hence it get's drained when you drive around....

hope that helped
