Loose ground wire, anyone else? Check the grounds again and make sure everything is connected and tight.

Get a meter and check the voltage at the battery. The light is actually controlled by one of the wires on the smaller plug and I know that they went bad on my car so that would be something that I would check.

what wire are you talking about? i went to two autozones today and the battery and alternator still checked out great but the light is still on and all fuses are ok and wires are tight and grounds are good

Check your power steering fluid. for some silly reason nissan use one light for both battery and fluid level

There is a connector with two smaller wires that come off of the alternator.

That needs to be plugged in for it to charge normally, which traces to some connectors next to the battery. Those wires need to be connected.
