Just thought Id verify my thoughts.

When my SUV is started up it sounded real throaty for the past week. Almost like there wasnt enough juice to get it going. Once it was started it ran fine. Power everything was fine, clock kept time, all power options worked.

Went to go to work this morning. Car started up a little harder than it normally does (Ive only had it a week). Went to the gas station a block from my office and turned it off. Ran inside for about a minute and came back. Car was dead. Didnt want to start. Had a manager come jump it and took it to the office. Once it was on jumper cables it started up fine and ran fine. This afternoon when I left it started hard, but started up. I didnt charge the battery at work on a trickle charger and I didnt run it for more than a few minutes after it was jumped this morning. Once it started up it ran fine this afternoon.

My thought is the battery is gone and I replaced it with my work discount for $73. I got a battery that has a 7 year warranty. 625CCA and 850CA's. After replacement it has started every time. None of the startups has sounded the way it was for the last week starting up the SUV before work.

Whats your opinion?

My last battery died quickly, not gradually. It had been running just fine for number of year and suddenly one time it couldn't turn the engine. Someone helped jumping it up so I could drive. Couple of days later it happened again. I thought battery could no longer hold the charge so I replaced it with Costco Kirkland battery and it has been strong ever since (was two year ago).

That sounds about right. I drove it a minimum of 30 minutes a day for the last week. My thought was I was driving it just enough to keep some kind of charge on the battery and it just slowly depleted.
