I Hooked Up The Battery Wrong In My 89' 240sx. I Put The Positive Cable On The Negative Battery Post And The Negative Cable On The Positive Post Of The Battery And Now Nothing Electrical Work's. I Checked All My Fuses And They're All Fine Except One That Say's ALT In The Fuse Box Under The Hood. But What Else Could Have I Blown Or Melted? Could It Be A Fusible Link Or Maybe Even My ECU Harness? Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated.

check the big grey fuse in the fuse box under the hood on the passenger sign it shouldve blown go to the junkyard or nissan to get a new one then you may need to check all the wiring and make sure that you didn't burn anything up but first take your battery and have it tested you may have fried some cells

I've Looked At The Wiring Around The Fuse Box And Battery And It Doesn't Look Burned. Is There A Specific Wire I Should Look At? And Yeah It's Weird Nothing Electrical Work's But When I Turned The Key It Clicked Like It Was Gonna Start And The Gauge Clock Light Up But Didn't Show Any Number's. And My Bro Said The Reverse Light's Were On, What's Up With That? But Yeah I'll Get The Battery Checked Out Just In Case And Try To Find A Fuse.

definitly sounds like you fried your wires. I had a guy with an older corvette who did that and found alot of burned wires on the harness and such

So What Should I Do Man? Just Start Ripping Up My Wiring? Do You Think I Could've Burned Some Wires I Can't Even Get Too?

Don't go taking out wires when you can't even hook up a battery properly.

Get some help and stay away from that poor car.

I hate to say man but you should have checked before you installed it. Anyway why not go at it yourself, its a good learning experience.

I made my share of stupid mistakes lol. Some things that could have saved me lots of money if I would have just took 5 minutes too actually check the situation. But if anything came from all this is all the knowledge and experience I gained. Nothing beats hands-on expeirence. Like you cant tell someone how to have better sex if you're a virgin

Big Brad...s*** happens..we all learn from mistakes..with that said..got some advice for ya..

try testing the altinator first off..there is a regulator on the altinator that regulates the current to the battery...if your altinator test's out ok...then try to push start the car (as a test) to see if the basics are working..there are 3 things needed for a engine to run...fuel..air..spark..so if those are in order and working..its saves some time narrowing this down...if you cannot get the car to push start..then try testing the ECU..if the ecu is good...test the dizzy out..start there and drop us the 411 after your done testing..we can go from there.

Alright I'm Just Gonna Tell Everybody My Ordeal Cause I Have Time To Type Now Haha. Ok The Car Was'nt Originaly Mine. I Bought It Off My Friend For $500 Cause It Was Broken Down In Arizona And I Was Down To Go Get Her. The Reason It Was Broken Down (From What My Friend Told Me) He Was Racing And Missed A Shift And Something Went Boom. He Said He Took Off The Valve Cover And Saw That Some Rocker's Were Bent Or Broken. He Replaced Them Along With A New Camshaft And It Still Would'nt Run. He Told Me Before That A New Head Should Make It Work. So It's Been Sitting For About A Year And A Half Now. I Just Got It Like 4 Month's Ago And I've Been Trying To Find Part's For It At The Local Junkyard's And Have Gotten Only Minor Little Interior And Exterior Part's So Far. So After Like A Week After I Got It Some Of My Friend's Came Over To Check It Out And I Told Them The Situation And They Said Hey Let's Try To Jump Start Her And See What Happen's. So We Hooked Her Up And It Had Power, Radio, Gauges, Seat Belt Retract ect. So I Went To Start It And The Motor Knocked Like Crazy. It Literaly Looked And Felt Like The Motor Was Gonna Jump Out Of The Chassis! It Was Insane. Could That Mean Bottom End Damage? Or Maybe The Timing's Off Cause He Put In A New Camshaft? I Have'nt Taken Apart My Motor Yet Cause I Wanted To Practice On A Junkyard 240. I Did, I Got A Some What Ok Looking Head Last Week. The Valves Look A Little Burnt But That's Normal Right? There Was Like 155,000 Miles On The Junkyard 240 Odometer. Man That Thing Was A B**** To Get Off Haha, And The Stupid Intake Manifold Would'nt Come Off So I Had To Pay For That Too. So Any Way A Like A Month Before This I Got A New Battery Cause The Window Was Down And I Was Tired Of Sticking A Towel In There. So I Went To Autozone, Turned In My Old One. The Stupid Girl Who Was Typing On The Computer Way To Fast Told Me What To Get So I Went And Got It. She Rang Me Up, I Went Home And Hooked It Up, Not Realizing It Was The Wrong One (I Thought All Batteries Were Universal So That's Why I Didn't Figure It Out Till After I Hooked It Up, I'm Stupid I Know, I Learned My Lesson). I Went Back, Got The Right One, Hooked It Up, And Only The Starter And Reverse Light's Worked. Nothing Else. So Crap I Fried Something. I Checked The Fuse's Inside They Were Fine. Checked The Fuses Under My Hood And I Only Saw One Blown. It Was The ALT Fuse. And I Noticed On The Fuse Box Cover It Said 75a And The Fuse In That Spot Was An 80a. Could That Be The Reason Why It Blew? Also I'm Missing A Couple Little 10 Fuses (This Is A Protomotoring Car By The Way, If Anyone Know's Who They Are, They're Con Men. They Just Rig Up 240's To Look Apealing Too Kid's So They'll Buy Them. Example-My Friend Haha) And The Top Left There's A Big Empty Space But There's No Fuse Block Or Wiring There So I Guess It's Suposed To Be Like That Right? Well Ok That's My Story. I'm Sorry I Wrote An Essay But I'm Trying To Give You Guy's All The Detail's Haha. So If You Read This Thankyou

you need to rip that motor apart and rebuild it from scratch...since your new..before you start..you need some advanced basics...go down to a bookstore like barns&noble...buy the book ( Engine Blueprinting) its in the Automotive section and its a (SA) brand book..its a easy read and small....this will give you a whole bunch of info you knever dreamed ou could learn..once you read that book...engines will start making sence to you and perfomance building will be in your future..start there...as the engine you have now..is toast...but it can be resurected into a monster with the rite know how and time.

if ur gonna go with a full rebuild i would suggest doing a ka24de swap as im a ka guy but an sr20 would be good too but anything would be better than a single cam and de's are easy to find from all the sr swappers

Ok So Here's An Update, Got The Fuse Thing Figured Out. I Guess The Fuse I Needed Was Right Under My Nose The Whole Time (75A). But The Weird Thing Was When I Went To The Dealer And Tried To Get Another 80A The Part's Dork Was Looking At Me Like I Was An Alien Or Something. He Said He's Never Heard Of Or Seen An 80A Fuse Before. And I Was Well I'm Sure This Was'nt The Only One Ever Made Jack Hole. So I Ended Buying The 75A Even Though I Had Gotten One From A 1990 240sx At The Yard And It Didn't Fit, So I Tried The One From The Dealer And It Fit Like A Glove. Freaking Weird, I Guess I Didn't Try And Force The Last One Like I Did This One Haha. Yeah I Didn't Have The Junkyard Fuse Cause I Took It Back When I Went To Get My Engine Head. Thought I'd Be A Nice Guy Cause Nobody Else Is Nice At The Junkyard. That Was A Mistake, Could've Saved Myself 13 Buck's And Some Change Haha Oh Well. But Yeah Everything Work's Again . Except The Dome Light And Passengerside Window. But I Think It's Probaly The Dome Light Bulb And The Window Motor. I Also Currently Have A KA24E Head Sitting In My Garage. I've Been Cleaning Off The Multiple Grease Layer's Whenever I Get The Chance. And I'm Also Still Waiting On The Garage To Clear Out So I Can Get My Baby In There And Take Her Apart. So Yeah There's My Update For Everyone That's Still Probaly Wondering What's Going On Hahaha But I'm Sure You All Forgot. Hahah It's Whatever
