It's about time to replace my battery, still orig, and I'm starting to notice a little delay on cold starts. Looking through the posts between Everlast vs Costco vs Gold to research, but it did not mention was that most of these CCAs were below the OEM (750). Explains why the books that list for the batteries mostly had the 2006 - 2010 M45 batteries listed but unavailable, even though they had 24Fs available for the 03 to 04s.

2 that were available locally at above 750 CCA were the Mega-Tron at 800 CCA and the Duralast Platinum at 750 CCA, going for $180 and $150 plus install. With all the extra cladding, I'd rather do them myself than an independent shop. But the dealer is at $215, with wash and rental. Sold...

That said, anyone know what is the actual CCA needed? Why are all the other battery suggestions for replacements pointing to below OEM specs?

Here is the stock battery info as the cars were delivered by the manufacturer:

2003-2004 M45
Type: 80D23R
CCA: 582 Amps

2006 - 2018 M
Type: 110D26L
CCA: 720 Amps

In the 2011+ models, the part numbers assigned to the batteries might vary per engine size, but that is the minimum spec for all of them since 2006; V6, V8 and hybrid.

More info. Looked into actual stock Infiniti battery, it is a 700 CCA. Also comes with an 84 month limited warranty. Anyone know the manufacturer?

Interrsting why parts books listed them as 750 CCA. Had me looking around for nothing.

I have been to the movies at an outdoor projection a few times and the stock battery has trouble cranking even after about 45 minutes of using the car audio, so I upgraded last time to an Odyssey Extreme with 850 CCA. It starts no problem after watching an hour and a half movie using the audio when the car is off. So depending on your use case, you may not want to skimp on getting a small battery. Though it also depends on just what electronics package your car has.

I looked into the Ody Extreme, since never read about it. Looks like it competes with the Optimas.
