Ok heres the problem I have, my car has a drain on the battery and I don't know where. I located what wire it is, but I don't know exactly where the wire leads (White wire comming out of the positive terminal). I know that this wire leads to the fuse/relay box behind the battery, and is connected to the alternater relay. But after removing the negative on the battery and connecting a volt meter to re-establish a charge, I removed the alternator relay thinking that would make the charge on the battery disappear, wrong. There was still a charge being drawn from the battery. So that white wire must split off into more than one direction after gettting to the fuse/relay box. Oh and by the way I did remove the alternator and have it tested and there was no problem with...and the same goes for the starter. If anyone knows where this wire goes. can you please help a brother out, and if someone has a wiring diagram that would be fantastic.

Please help...my baby has been sitting in the backyard now for over two months with this problem (battery disconnected of course).

check voltage regulator, may be a part of the alternator. I have not had this problem with my 240, but did with a '79 impala. This was the problem, otherwise some dvoms can capture parasitic draw and tell you which circuit it is on, make sure nothing in your car still has power when ignition is off, Make sure the top of the battery it self is clean of dirt and liquid, belive it or not this can draw voltage from a battery, I'll check all data and tell you where that white wire goes.

first off, get a test light. Install it between the neg terminal and the neg battery post. Make sure all of the interior lights are off along with any other lights you can find. Now start pulling fuses. When the test light goes out, you have found the circuit with the short(drain). Now follow the corresponding wiring and look for rub marks where it more than likely has rubbed the chassis and is grounding out. It may also be a relay stuck on etc. Sometimes the drain will be in a non essential circuit and you can just leave the fuse out. Un fortunately there is no easy way to find a drain.
