I had to replace a dead battery. AAA came and changed out the battery. They kept something plugged in to the cig lighter when they took out the battery.

Before they came I lost all electrical power and now I have some curious problems. My sun roof will not open with one touch. I have to keep pressing the open button and it moves an inch at a time and it closes the same way. Also the driver's side window will not go up automatically, I have to keep my finger on the switch. I did lose all radio stations and that will be no problem.

Is there a DIY fix and if you had a similar problem what is a fair cost for repair. The GD dealer won't give an estimate and will not give me a guesstimate. Thanks

Yo Milton,

easy fix--nothings broken, just need to reprogram the sunroof and windows

Make sure ignition switch is in ON position

1. Windows: open window to at least halfway, then close, AND then hold switch for more than 3 seconds after the window is closed completely. Release switch. Voila.

2. Sunroof: close sunroof completely, then hold switch for more than 1 second after the sunroof is completely closed. Release switch. Done.

hope that helps--I would wonder about the stealership if their folks don't know the proper initialization procedure for these things..

Done thanks so much. I did search the forum but didn't find anything under dead battery. I did find this fix under a thread title "sunroof".
It did work. One thing to know if someone else has this problem is to make sure the sunroof is in the correct "close" position. I held the switch for a count of five. Thanks Craig for your quick response...don't get me started on taking my '06 M35X to the dealer. Fortunately I have had no problems, just changing the oil and just got the brakes and rotors done (@ 75K) with OEM Infinty parts but not at the dealer. Can you believe I got 75K on the original pads.
Once I was off warranty I found an honest and good mechanic in Quincy, MA... shout out to Donovan Brothers in Quincy...

Thanks

I had the same issue but I thought I probably screwed something up. Finally got the sunroof working and the window working again. Thanks for info! even though I did not initially post about the issue. I just hate dealerships they are no help. We have plenty here in new york city that just want your $.... Thank god for this forum, saved me a lot of money

My battery died a couple months ago also.... Took it to the dealership for a new and had no problems synced they did the work!! I put in my new R2C M45 intake and took about two hours as I was having some quality time with my brother..... This time I lost a whole lot of memory... Seats, windows, sunroof, basically all the personalized memory gadgets. I didnt look it up but somehow got everything back to normal within a few days of messing with the switches.. :bigthumb:

Just bought an "07 M35x and the dealer mentioned that the battery was replaced.
I had the same issues with the sunroof but I also have a problem with the radio presets. I was able to set all presets A,B & C (18 stations) on the sattelite (SR) but then when I change the "RADIO" button to "FM" the SR presets come up and if I try to preset a FM station it changes the SR presets instead. I am using the directions in the manual to do this setup.
Not sure if this is due to the battery replacement or other some other audio problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

A, B, & C are global presets, meaning you can only present 18 stations regardless of band. This will mean that within A, you can have several FM, some AM (don't if anyone still listens to these), and them some SR. I believe that's how it was originaly designed and is not a battery issue.

Ok, I now understand. I thought each band had 18 presets.

Thanks for the info
