How would i go about troubleshooting a problem on my dad's car (not nissan) when the battery goes dead if the car sits for like more than 3 days..??

There is a drain somewhere or minor short or whatever it is .... but im not sure what is causing it nor how would i go about finding out what is doing it..

Im good at mechancal work, i pulled my motor out and did a complete rebuild with forged internals, and dropped it back in and drove off.... Ive done my own stereo work with amps and such and installed my own car alarm, so im good with electrical stuff..

If it is an amperage draw, what would be considered too much amperage for idle state when the car just sits there..?

Thanks

idle state depends on all the other electronics you've got drawing on your battery. Sounds to me like you've got a date with a multimeter to try to figure out where the draw is coming from. Another thing, how old is your battery?

This is his 2nd battery this yr..!! Its all fine once he gets it jumped and started.. after driving to where he needs to be, it cranks back up just fine. and will stay fine until the car sits for more than a few days..Perfect example is he gets home from work on friday... does not go anywhere sat or sun... then gets in the car on mon morning and its dead as can be..!! Its clock work..!! If it is a draw.. how much is too much of a draw.. ??

too much draw depends on the battery. if it's the second battery in a year, that's way too often. lol yes I'm aware I'm stating the obvious. Now, the problem can also be linked to the lower harness if you're sure the alternator and the battery are in good shape. There is a wire that's linked up to the alternator in the lower harness that ensures the battery gets charged. But the battery does charge though right? Just it doesn't hold charge. Then yeah I'd suspect parasitic draw. What other electronics you've got hooked up to this car?

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I've seen a new VW Jetta drain it's battery in an idle state in about a week. lol

Yes it holds the charge.... he gets it jump started and hes good for the rest of the week. It cranks up every morning just fine and every afternoon just fine. When they go shopping on the weekend, No problems. It cranks and run just fine. When the weekend comes and if they have stuff to do, and they decide to leave the jeep at the house and use the other car, then thats when the jeep will go dead if it sits more than 2 days..

He has parked it on fri even and let it sit till sunday morning... tries to crank it and its a very slow start to its like..... C'mon... u can start, dont die out....

But if he parks it fri evening, and lets it sit the entire weekend and comes out mon morning..... dead..!!

on a bat amp draw test 25/35 milli amps is normal. for it to die in 2 day i think you will see about 250 / 400 m/a.
