I want to drop my fuel tank out of my S14, but I also want to relocate the battery to the trunk to free up my engine bay. Is it safe to have a fuel cell mounted in the spare tire well at the same time as having your battery mounted elsewhere in your trunk? Should I also install a cut-off switch?

I would think as long as the battery is properly relocated, sealed box and hold downs ( summit racing kit) and the fuel cell was certified then everything should be fine. I would probaly do the cut off also, just for safety.

Is the fuel cell harder to install?

Never installed one but I would assume you woud have to run some new fuel line, wires and stuff. Is the is a steet car or track car?

I think for a daily driver I would use the money more toward something else. What else do you have done?Just my 2 centsJames

A fuel cell is completely pointless for a daily driver. The only purpose of one is to make sure your fuel doesn't slosh away from your fuel pump during EXTREMELY hard cornering. We're talking cornering forces that your streetable 240 will never see. Ever.

The only other use is sometimes for cars that have that problem under not so hard cornering due to crappy fuel pump positioning in a large tank. I've heard that CTS-Vs have that problem. However, 240s do not.

There are some on ramps with turns near my house that I can take fast enough, 45-60mph, that will cause my fuel to pull to the driver side of the car. When it does this, even up to half tank, my fuel cuts out and I'll start to die out. I've only done it about 3 times before, but my car is stock. But I do just use it as a daily driver, so I guess I'll do the battery relocate only.
