So i just replaced the battery in my 89 240 se, i went from a 630 battery to a 775, i hooked everything up, turned the car over. The engine fired and it runs strong, but my headlights, tail lights, gauges, A/C, basically anything electronic does not work anymore (they did with the old battery).

I was told that it would be a bad ground, but I got to looking around in my fuse boxes and only found one fuse to be blown, a 75A block type fuse. The Fuse Cover said it was the Alternator Fuse.. i guess >_<

anyway, could this blown fuse be the cause of my problems? and if so, can i just pick one up at AutoZone or Advance (O'Reily didn't have one).

sorry for no pics or if i'm being vague...

Didn't you see a spark? replacing the fuse likely will solve your problem. you will have to buy a new fuse regardless. take the old one in to help identify what you need. it may be hard to find.

Part stores don't carry them. You have to go to a yard or a dealer. (bought an extra just in case). The part stores I checked were Napa, a local one, CSK (Checkers Schucks Kragen), and a local one down in California. Had to go to a Dealer. About 18 bucks a piece.

well, its a boxy lookin fuse, not your typical blade fuse, so i overlooked it at first it think.

but just pull it out and look down through the plastic cover and see if the metal band that runs through the middle is broken, should tell you whether or not its blown. also, i was told that it could be a bad ground somewhere, so if it's not your fuse i would check your ground wires, that seems to be the biggest problem with electronics in almost any situation

and thanks for the help guys, 18 bucks a piece... crap, i think i'll goto a yard.

oh, well party then. 240sx's are few and far between around here... i've only ever seen 3 or 4 on the road and only seen one in a junk yard... and it had been raped and plundered. no doors, hood, hatch, interior, seats, brakes, engine, electronics, you name it, it was gone.

guess those 3 or 4 on the road really needed those parts to keep running, lol.
