Problem: my wonderful daughter may have left my dome light on in my car - for what may have been days, so it may have been running down as I ran errands, etc... I don't know, because I probably have only driven it during the day the past few days. So yesterday afternoon - go to start - no worky. Came home last night late - tried to start - just barely started and I let it run 15 minutes and shut it off. This morning - it started weakly and I let it run about 45 minutes before driving off to work. It started when I left work again - weakly. Drive to work was only 10 minutes, and drive home only 10 minutes. I ran it for a highway drive of 30 minutes, and it seemed to get charged pretty good, but then went out a bit ago and the start was like half weak. Ran it for another highway drive of 30 minutes just now and seems to be better when shut off and started back up right away. But I guess I will see in the morning. Any thoughts?

Also is battery covered under bumper to bumper warranty? I have a 2010 Versa SL - Only 22K miles on it.

a dead battery will take a while to recharge, an hour's worth of driving on the highway. can you trickle charge the battery with a battery charger?
i'm surprised the light didn't go off automatically after a few minutes. check your battery post connections, they may be lose enough that the car will start, but not good enough to charge the battery as well as it could if the connnections were tight.
you can start it up, put a volt meter on the battery and it should read 13.1 volts or so, if not, then the alternator is shot.

I would check the manual, if not I am sure it is pro-rated.

Trickle charger, worth it.

Ended up being the battery, IT's prorated under warranty, so it was a $52 repair at the dealer.

Sorry but you got ripped. A new battery should not cost that much. And installing it literally requires the loosening of four nuts.

Anymore a new battery runs $90 and up. They got it for about half the price of a new one, so I would say it was prorated a little bit.
